Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

They'll huff and puff to try and convince him to force a move but after being given vice captaincy I can't see him wanting to leave, especially when he hasn't even won the league with us yet.

If the captaincy rumour is true, he'll spend more time with the armband than without owing to Carrick's squad status.

I'd imagine he'd see being Captain of Manchester United as a huge honour, which of course it is, but he'll understand the significance in the same way Evra and Vidic did.

Don't see him leaving.

Might be wrong, but I think he's referring to the content he has planned for Beyond the Pitch rather than United's transfer window.

You are right, he's got another big interview with a United player lined up, but I can't say who

I've always admired Swansea, they play football the right way and have rotated managers well (bar the odd bad egg). Been an established Prem league club until last season, and done well to stay up.

Hope this isn't true as Cork is a solid midfielder for the Swans, not heard much of incomings. They need to strengthen not weaken they're squad.

With this rumour and Glyfi strongly linked for Everton, doesn't look too promising

Jesus, the guy is 21. Plenty of players are inconsistent at this age. Rashford was hot and cold this year too but no one would dream of selling him or putting him out on loan.

I outlined in my post that the reason was attitude and not talent. This is something Jose hammered on too. He too highlighted that it was Rashford's attitude that kept him playing and always in the squad even through his drought. That's the thing. A young player can blow hot and cold and be inconsistent. It's the attitude that counts though. Januzaj had the same issue - attitude. Same for Ravel long before. At this level, to my mind at least, it's the attitude that separates the good from the great and if he continues to let his head drop and allow his personal life to affect him to such an extent, maybe we should be more pragmatic than idealistic.

The squad is already lopsided with a shortage of attacking talent. Letting one of our most promising attackers go on loan when Rooney, Ibra, Januzja, Depay etc. have all left makes zero sense. Absolutely no chance this is happening.

Rooney - barely a squad player; Januzaj - gone before the season started; Depay - barely involved and then sent out at the first opportunity. So in effect, we lost only Ibra and have brought in Lukaku. Martial was so far down the order last season that if we add a proper winger, it's in everyone's (including the club's) best interests to allow Martial to get first-team games on a loan.

Didn't ESPN mention something similar about some big news regarding us coming up?? And nothing came if it I think. If there is some actual news wouldn't these guys say it immediately?? All this sounds bs to me.
Occasionally if they get briefed by the club in order to get an exclusive, the club will embargo it. Break the embargo then they lose any shot at ever getting briefed again - still think this is bs though.

Sorry but totally disagree. There seems to be this trend of one bad season = sell or loan players. He's young, Mourinho has already stated how talented he is and he'll do his job and manage him. Martial is a class player and there is no way we should think about him not being in our team. Besides which, as has been pointed out the other options in his position are hardly stellar.

If he has first dibs on interviews with United's new signings like with Lukaku then of course he would have to keep it secret.

Of course if it's a new signing, thought you where discussing a possible interview with current member of the squad. De Brun has some connections at the club, but he is blowing a bit hot and cold at times.

Actually have a lot of time for Phil Brown, always enjoy listening to him talk United and think his heart is in the right place. Glad the guy got a break.

Have no issue with him either. Have far greater issue with the vitriol of grown men, many on this board who are so micro-obsessed with analysing sports journo credibility and character.

I know someone said earlier he gets a bit giddy when he gets one right.

I could not agree more. The amount of people who call for journos to be banned because they don't like the story their going with is baffling. Grow up and accept that transfers are complex operations.

3 men midfielders a la Madrid wont be that bad.

Herrera : Casemiro
Pogba : Kross
James : Modric

Lukaku : Ronaldo (striker mode)

Too bad, we dont have good wing backs a la Marcelo and Carvajal, Hardworker technical Forward like Benzema, and Genius playmaker like Isco.

However with 3 men above, at least our midfield will be no longer being dull.

This is what I'd like to see too - We should go for Rakitic or Nainggolan for that Modric role in my opinion. And buy Semedo for a right-back that has lots of years of attacking quality in him.

If it's regarding a new signing he's not going to be waiting on permission to say something. United will announce it ourselves.

Probably some access behind the scenes, or something.

I may be in a minority, and I haven't watched him in Germany this year - but if we want a right back who is predominantly offensive with suspect defending- I think Varela is certainly good enough. I was very impressed with him under Van Gaal. He has great delivery, set up a few goals if I recall, and can dribble well. He was also very good when played in CM last pre-season by Jose.

This is the kind of player Chelsea sell for £10m+

Having played 6 games in Germany last year, I think its safe to say that, this would be just insane :D

They have signed Roque Mesa from Las Palmas do he could be a direct replacement for Cork, if they lose Gylfi though then that would be difficult for them to replace.

I'm a really big fan of Sigurdsson and think he's good enough to be a key player for Everton, but £50m?!

May as well bid for James at that rate

James wouldn't join Everton and would be on bigger wages. If I was Swansea I'd ask for £40 million+.

What was the reason for this? Injury, or just not favoured? I know there was some tattoo issue but that was near the end of the season.

If Swansea lose Sigurdsson and Cork they might as well start planning for their 2018-19 season in the Championship.

he suffered a long-term injury early in the season. Ankle I think

Ah yeah I was just being flippant. Sigurdsson is slightly younger than I thought, I guess £40m wouldn't be the worst price in the world.
