Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I'm a really big fan of Sigurdsson and think he's good enough to be a key player for Everton, but £50m?!

May as well bid for James at that rate

They don't necessarily need the money and they're not going to get a better player to replace him. I'd be asking for more than £50m if I was them and if Everton are stupid enough to pay it then so be it.

This was his answer:

Don't understand the need to keep it a secret if it was a interview.

The guy he replies to then responded with this

"Completely understand, I won't ask names but have we been linked to them already or is it someone completely new?"

At least one of these guys seem to think they are talking about transfers...

I think a loan for Martial would be excellent. especially if we bought a new winger in that position.
Not really, we're missing a winger as it is. Mourinho is not dumb enough for that. Unless we're getting a winger plus one of the likes of Neymar.

Spurs have been one of the clubs linked with signing him (again). Personally, don't think there's a great deal of difference between him and Alli. Reckon he could also get a similar amount of goals playing 10 for them.

No. Why are people wanting to get rid of Martial, our most talented player? Ever since Jose started marginalising him, people just seem to have taken that on board instead of remembering how talented the guy is.
We shouldn't allow him to go anywhere.
He's not our most talented player.

Not sure how much we think our players are worth but Sigurdsson had much more end product than any of our attacking midfielders last year (and probably the last few years)

Siggy goals and assists total last season = 22

Mkhitaryan / Lingard / Martial combined = 18

I thought he was banned here. I remember him as a fraud.

Have no issue with him either. Have far greater issue with the vitriol of grown men, many on this board who are so micro-obsessed with analysing sports journo credibility and character.
It is very strange. Some seem to take it very personally and talk about him as if he's indykaila.

He used to be. Raoul had an amnesty for several banned journalists including Tancredi. Logic being that despite De Brun's rants he does have a radio show which has United related content now and again.

He has already interviewed Lukaku as one of the first in the media. It was ESPN and him (his radio show) who got the first interviews. It airs later today. So he has connections in the club. He is a bit hot and cold, but has a lot more credibility than many other in the media.

Indeed.

Balague has interviewed the biggest names in the game and he has the insight of a lab rat. It means nothing.
United have very few leaks, maybe none at all if there isn't a briefing.

PDB is our version of Barca's Balague.

Not happening.

We definitely have the extra year option, anyway.

Manchester United is delighted to announce that, after triggering the buy-out clause in his contract on Tuesday, it has signed Spanish central midfielder Ander Herrera from Athletic Club in Bilbao, pending the receipt of the International Transfer Certificate. He joins on a four-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year.

I chalked him off when the whole #9 bollocks happened last Summer. Was only a matter of time.

A loan could be very good for him actually. He needs to improve and develop that potential and he won't on the bench.

I'd worry if it were anyone else, but Herrera? Nah. He's going nowhere.
Exactly, let alone when the Barca angle is "we pay an ageing MSN so much we are skint and can't afford your transfer, probably not even your renewal wages".

Compelling.

Not a transfer, nearly was, but might end up being one.

Griezmann Raiola's newest client?
Griezmann has recently split with his agent and adviser Eric Olhats.

So Griezmann has quit his agent last week? I can already envision it carving out at Old Trafford. Mino Raiola to the rescue.

Could it be Griezmann wanted out but his advisor said stay or vice versa, hence the split?

Get Antoine and Ousmane signed up with Raiola, quick  and bring both to Old Trafford next summer to complete our attack.

Strikers: Lukaku, Rashford
SS/AM: Griezmann, Mkhitaryan
LW: Martial, Lingard
RW: Dembélé, Mata

Sorted for years and has a bit of everything at an extremely high level.

Maybe we have an outside chance, maybe we told him now or never, and if not James.
Nah, at the end of the day he would still have a buyout clause, it is nothing to do with his agent if he says yes to us, we would just activate it.

I thought it was vice versa. His advisor left and said "The recent positioning of Griezmann’s image and future is no longer in harmony with our vision as a partnership". So I took that as, his advisor wanted him to come to United, but Griezmann said no to the move after the transfer ban and so the advisor quit.

Raiola, get Griezmann to Old Trafford ASAP.

In all seriousness, I don't think Griezmann is that keen on us really. If he really wanted to be here he would.

I think the ship has sailed.

I agree. He will end up at PSG, Barca or Bayern I reckon.

Yeah, I think so too.
