Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Ask your self do you believe Chelsea are better of selling Costa and replacing him with Morata? I was all for us signing him but looking at him possibly going Chelsea. Not at all concerned.

A team doesn't have to buy a like for like replacement of a player, be it play style or caliber or w/e, to get better. Morata is a very good, young player, he could very well turn out a beast at Chelsea. Yes, there are no guarantees but your reasoning not to be worried is flimsy at best. Hopefully, if he does go there, he flops, but I don't think he will considering his quality and the players around him, chances are he will step it up.

People always make reference to his goal numbers but at Juve he often played wide and at Real he has a top 3 goals per minute ratio in the league.

I think he will be a good fit at Chelsea because unless we make some more major signings he has better players around him whose confidence is sky high. If we had a Hazard it would be different, hell if we had a Fabregas it would be different.

We just won 2 trophies last season. Our confidence is high.

It's not poor reasoning he hasn't actually proved anything to say he could be top class for a title winning team. He will go there like if he came to us being relied on as the main man, he hasn't experienced this yet. Lukaku has been the main man be it for lesser clubs but he's also shown he can find the net on a regular basis consistently.

I swear the BBC are getting much worse for clickbait tweets, where they post about a transfer but don't mention it's a link to their gossip page or an article from another paper.

They were meant to be the reliable one's you could trust that when they said something it was because they had actual information from the parties involved.
This. I hate it as well, you have to click the link to check since the tweets they link about their own actual info are basically identical.

They used to be the best, most trusted and thorough source going but they're definitely slipping in recent years. To be fair that goes for everyone with the emergence of twitter, Sky Sources used to be taken seriously!

Lukaku's totals look alright but he went like 13 games without scoring and iirc 13 of his 25 goals came within 5 games and freak routs Everton had. And the season before Martinez also had to defend him for droughts. His goals come in spurts and tho the totals do look good, I wouldn't exactly say he consistently found the back of the net, maybe it's semantics though

So after messing them about over ddg, making them look stupid over morata we are going back to sign another of their players, some top level reporting here.
Well , i think all that puts us in good position. James transfer is like morata to them. They must/want sell. And we sent a message with morata- "This is our offer. Take it or we will sign other player. Good luck finding rich club which will pay the fee"

Looking at the Caf, I can see that for quite a number of people if Lukaku doesn't hit the ground running, he's going to turn into a 'slag-off' scapegoat every match.......pity.
He is supposedly PL ready and is costing a fortune. So yes people will expect big things straight away.

The main BBC account is definitely after clicks, but if you follow the individual journalists they're much more reliable and just stick to facts. Stone/Ornstein seem the best.

So basically Lukaku plays for Everton who play a certain way and don't win as many games, hence he can't win as many points.....damning stuff :wenger:

Well given that Everton get a lot less points than the rest of those teams is it really that surprising? If you weighted it by overall points it probably evens out

I mean Chelsea got 30 more points than Everton but Costa only got 6 more points from his goals than Lukaku, that's pretty good no?

I see a bit of similarity of Lukaku's tally last season and Berbatov's when we won the title and he wasn't picked for the CL final squad.
That season Berba was the top scorer in the league but he had 3 hat-tricks and 5 goals vs Blackburn iirc. Which actually left him with 7 goals in the rest of his appearances.
Sort of in the same fashion Lukaku boosted his tally. That is why the stat that Lukaku's goals have earned only 9 points to Everton seems a bit worrying.
However I watched a fair bit of their games and he was left isolated, without service in the majority of the bigger games (vs Liverpool, Arsenal, Us and Chelsea). He did manage to score in both games vs City and once vs Tottenham.

Naby #Keita and Emil #Forsberg are not for sale this summer, however both have €57m release clauses next summer. (Kicker)

Know it's from last week but i just saw it and found it very interesting (can't remember it being posted). Mourinho would love Forsberg imo but of course Keita is the main man of interest. Steal!

With that release clause we should start the groundwork for signing Keita this season already, 57m Euros for a player like him in next years market will be an absolute bargain.

You'll need to upgrade your Emergency Ignore Button Protocol (EIBP) to code purple for next season.

Someone will need to carry Rooney's can next season.

I don't know much about him. Care to share why we should be after him?

Because he plays on the LW, played a huge part in Monaco's successfull season, french posters rave about him and I love his YouTube compilations.

Have no idea really.

He's discovered he's rapid on FIFA so we should be all over him. Only joking.

He is not rapid in Fifa. What he is though, is a very good, clean and efficient player. He makes the ball, and the team move around. Very much like a David Silva.
