Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Naby #Keita and Emil #Forsberg are not for sale this summer, however both have €57m release clauses next summer. (Kicker)

Know it's from last week but i just saw it and found it very interesting (can't remember it being posted). Mourinho would love Forsberg imo but of course Keita is the main man of interest. Steal!

We will take him next season at that price.

Just seen the bit at the top. Wonder whether they'll sign extensions to bulk up the clauses and agree to let both leave? We need Raiola to become his agent so that doesn't happen.

Edit: Suppose if there are enough clubs interested; the clause might be rendered pointless as clubs will try and seal the deal by offering a higher fee.

I don't feel sorry for Morata in the slightest if the rumours are true. About Lukaku.

End of the day, he was a perennial substitute with no light at the end of the tunnel, yet he never once expressed his desire to leave. Another Di Maria in the making, being forced out to fund their newest shiny toy (Mbappe).

It's a cut-throat business at this level. If you pussyfoot around like Alvaro has been, clearly wanting to stay at Madrid or least not making a concrete gesture of wanting to leave, the very few clubs that can afford you, might look elsewhere to someone who genuinely wants to move.

I can see Morata being a Chelsea player now, for huge money, and probably doing very well as I reckon he would've done well with us. But dilly-dallying means people move on, I have some reservations about Lukaku but I don't doubt he will score us a lot of goals in the process and it's also nice to put Madrid in a 'feck off' position too. Although, Conte will probably end up paying for Mbappe for them so they win again, haha.

Seems he didn't wanna burn bridges in case he has to come back in which case thank god we missed out

So we've agreed a few of £75m and are paying them £25m to take Rooney?

Tough shit really. He could have done more to force the move. If he/agent had of went to Perez and said I really want United, then I'm sure better progress could have been made. He missed the boat and United can't sit still waiting while Lukaku is available.
I think they did go to Perez, but the egomaniac doesn't listen to anyone.

Basically yes.

The English press are valuing Rooney at £30m to talk about a £100m transfer.

In reality we all know he's worth nowhere near that. In fact considering we are wiping a potential £30m off our wage bill and getting rid of wood so dead it's petrified, they are actually about -£60m out with that fee and should be discussing this Lukaku transfer as a £45m deal.

So basically Lukaku plays for Everton who play a certain way and don't win as many games, hence he can't win as many points.....damning stuff :wenger:

The bottom stat is what worries me.

Not me. You can manipulate stats to support many different opinions - there are also many other variables that go into differentiating these goalscorers that might explain why Lukaku shows some frailty among those stats. I think you have to consider the club he was at along with what was asked of him

Politicians use stats all the time to present an certain opinion or viewpoint. The only stat I care about is the goals tally, leave the sprinting to the rest of the feckin team! Can he score...yes

No, it's the 4 goals, the doubles and the goals when everton was either winning or largely loosing. It's subjective too.

The bottom stat is what worries me.

Well given that Everton get a lot less points than the rest of those teams is it really that surprising? If you weighted it by overall points it probably evens out

I mean Chelsea got 30 more points than Everton but Costa only got 6 more points from his goals than Lukaku, that's pretty good no?

Average Speed might be the most useless football stat I've ever seen, assuming that is their average speed over the course of the whole game. I'm guessing it is, as it is pretty much walking speed for all of them.

The bottom stat isn't worrying at all. Switch Aguero and Kane around, and that list is in the order that their teams finished in the league. Chelsea won the most points, so understandably Costa's goals played a big hand in that. Everton finished 7th, won fewer games, Lukaku scored goals in games that Everton lost or drew in.

Morata had a similar stat go in his favour, that his goals won Madrid a lot of points in comparison to other strikers, but when it looked like he was nailed on for United, he still got slated because "not a starter", "not enough goals" despite also having a very good goals to minutes ratio.

Basically, whoever United sign, there will be something to bash them with.

Stats, fee and wages, why are people so obsessed, he's the only one of the 5 we could realistically buy, he also played for the most inferior team of the 5 who won the least points, maybe created the least chances, had less need to 'run about' etc etc, one stat I did read was that he was involved in something like 46% of all Evertons goals, which suggests he does what he's paid to do, i don't care about the fee or his wages, I care about how he performs for us, so maybe this time next year we discuss the value of his £75m fee.

I don't think its too much of a coincidence that the points won stat is ordered the way their respective teams finished in the league. (apart from Kane and Aguero because they are positioned alphabetically)

I think the price difference from these sources stem from United and Everton briefing different things. United briefed a whole host of sources yesterday that the fee was £75m, while Everton are quoting £90m+Rooney for free (who is supposedly rated at £10m) so £100m altogether. I think the transfer fee in reality may be £75m up front +£15m in add ons +Rooney on a free transfer.
