Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

It doesn't sound like media taking a guess but rather the press being briefed by someone at Everton. Similar to what we did with Sky, BBC and Telegraph a little while ago re: Lukaku bid

talkSPORT are probably using Jim White as their source given that Jim White works for them on mornings.

Jim White works for Talksport, he's their senior transfer journalist.

Didn't know that he was Talksport and that Benatia story is a belter, as you were lads.

Pursuing vs buying are different. My answer was to the poster who suggested we buy (actually, buy) Vardy and Ox to pressurize Real and Inter

Four hours later and with this Lukaku rumor, have you changed your mind? Market is much more dynamic than you are implying and there is not one perfect profile. I also think United would get better with Vardy and Ox than Morata and Perisic but this is my opinion, from a different country and a different perspective.

all credible media are on one side.

No one credible is dismissing this and the club obviosuly briefed everyone.

BBC/Ducker/MEN/Norwood all reporting the same thing at the same time.

ITS DONE!

So has he signed or what?

Be fecking hilarious if it's true, feck you Madrid.

My only guess is Everton are saying this in hopes of someone (Chelsea) coming in with a higher bid?
I have this weird feeling that Woodward shared this info to get Madrid to back down over their price. I don't think there is an actual deal in place for Lukaku despite what BBC said. Norwood's tweet is confusing though. I doubt he has the same sources as the likes of Ducker, BBC.

Hmmm, great that stuff is finally moving along but the contradicting tweets definitely smell of an Everton source denying the deal is done when we've briefed it has. Still, I obviously trust the ones who've said yes more. I don't think we can rule out Chelsea still coming back at this one though.

He's probably heard straight from the club given he's our photographer

Jim White is Moshiri's mouth piece apparently, don't know what to believe really. Maybe Everton think someone has jumped the gun and want to squeeze more money out of us?

I thought that was a myth. He's not our official photographer. He part times or did part time for us is what I remember.

We seem to have agreed a fee but Chelsea can still equal or better that. Hence the Everton camp pouring cold water on this. Lets wait and see.

Nah, he's just freelance, but tends to be our go-to-guy for photography of new transfers.

Either he's been asked to prepare for a shoot, or he's seen the BBC news same as the rest of us. He's usually pretty liable close to transfers being concluded, so I'd say the former is probably true, but it could be that he's just excited like the rest of us (some of us).

Some reports say done deal, some "close to everton" say no deal. What to think now?
Who are those twitter guys who say no deal?

MUFC is not briefing the BBC/Ducker etc etc on a "maybe" signing. Everton won't confirm it until the last i is dotted and the last t is crossed. Again, have we all forgotten the herrera saga?

If we get Lukaku and manage to feck off Rooney in the same time it will be excellent piece of business.

1. This doesn't seem like a rumour - more like a firm signing and one which is meant to be an alternative - and not a bargaining chip
2. Anyone who has seen Vardy and Ox play much would know that there's no way United would sign them as the first-team certs instead of players like Morata

Yes - the market is dynamic.
Dang! Can we drop this? Get the feeling you're talking about using "rumours" and "stories" as leverage (which I completely agree with doing) while I am refuting the sheer economical and financial farce of signing two players each for two positions just so you might just get a lower price on the more expensive one, while shelling out more money overall (and having two unrequired bench players).

It's plausible that a deal has been agreed in principle and that Everton are briefing the opposite to avoid being charged more for players that they're chasing.

It's also plausible that we've briefed in order to put pressure on RM and there's actually nothing agreed.

It's also plausible that we've jumped the gun and there'll be a mass influx of posts about how embarrassing we are.

Morata being the smokescreen for Lukaku then becomes Lukaku being a smokescreen as we go back for Morata. The smokescreen is a smokescreen for another smokescreen. Then Rooney gets a contract extension.

Smokescreen.

When was the last time our club briefed all the typical journos about a fee agreed and even had Norwood tweet about it being done only to not get the player?Never.

Anyone that has read Zlatan's autobiography will probably have a good idea of the kind of shit that Mino is pulling at the moment...literally anything could be going on depending upon what his final intention for his client is (i.e. Chelsea or United). I can imagine a scenario where United are certain they have agreement only for the rug to be pulled at the last minute and Chelsea step in. Not over yet I reckon...

I personally think Conte will be very happy to go in for Morata too as he is tailor made for costa replacement.
