Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Sandro Ramirez must be fuming if he's been brought in to sit on the bench while Rooney and Giroud stroll around and score the odd goal.

Aren't The Sun banned? As much as I want this to be true

These probably means they really do/did have the Lukaku money. Hopefully this will get the major players' market going. It has been a LONG summer

And the Griezmann saga pain is still there... :(

Anybody else getting tired of the 'Is there nobody else?' posts about Perisic?
Is there anybody else Jose wants over him?
No. The answer is no.

Yeah, I think this is pretty obvious. There is no list of alternatives, at least for this position.

I've been wondering why everyone is so negative with regards to Perisic myself. I have hardly seen anything from him bar last years WC, and even then not much. Hence i'm not really entitled to have an opinion.

What surprises me though is that most people seem to feel that he is too defensive. So, i've had a look at his stats, seeing as i haven't seen him live. Last season, in the Serie A, he produced 11 goals and 8 assists in 2757 minutes.
For comparison Mkhitaryan produced total 15 goals and 1 assist in 2169 minutes while Martial did 9 goals 6 assists in 2067 minutes. Mata did 10 goals and 4 assists in 2349 minutes and Lingard did 5 goals 3 assists in 1895 minutes.
Now, he doesn't excel in comparison with those numbers, but neither does he look weak imo. Especially considering he is supposed to be very good defensively.
Compared to someone from the same league though, you could maybe compare to Salah, who did 15 goals 11 assists(serie A), but i understand he played more like a SS that season than a winger. Lorenzo Insigne did 18 goals 9 assists in 2935 minutes which is a bit better, but maybe alsoplayed in a more left forward position than a winger with defensive responsibilities. And Bernardeschi did 11 goals 4 assists in 2311 minutes, but accoring to Whoscored mainly from a more central position, where we are, imo, well stacked.

All in all i think he compares positively to the mentioned names if he is by everyone here considered "too defensive". If Mou wants a player who can take more of a defensive responsibility, than an output like that in the offensive end would be pretty decent imo.

Like i said though, i have hardly seen him myself. Just a bit intrigued why people are so negative about the prospect of signing him.

Need to sort out a lot of offield issues but clearly a promising fullback

All the time in their gossip section. Extremely misleading of the Beeb since most consider them a reliable source of information.

It's hardly misleading, they state it's gossip in the tweets and it's a good roundup of all the silly rumours.

Of course, but most people who peruse this thread don't make the connection as they scroll through endless tweets.

Yes he is very good defensively and decent going forward . I think it's obvious 3 at the back with him on the left of midfield Tony V on the right playing a wing back type role. The rest of the set up interest me to wether we will go 5 across the middle or 4 .

How many 'gossip' related tweets do they post though? It's the first time I've seen one. I know they have a section on their website that rounds up all the bollocks but I've never seen a BBC tweet on here related to gossip.

Full story from custis

So, i know this is a bit "i know i guy, who knows a guy, who talked to a guy who said" and so on, but anyways, since this is from a site, and people can check it as much as i can, here it goes.

On the scandinavian supporters club site(paywall), they have asked the leader of Evertons norwegian supporters club how they feel about Rooney potentially returning to the club. The interesting part is where he says that during a supporter club event this spring, at which Rooneys father and uncle(apparently not the same guy:eek:) were present. According to the supporters club leader, some members asked Rooneys father what was happening, and he said «Calm down, lads. He is coming home».

Getting excited....

They post a tweet every day about the gossip stories. We just don't normally post them in this twitter thread as other tweets usually cover it

I've no idea, at a guess I'd say at least once a day to promote their gossip section. This is the only time I can remember seeing one of those tweets here and it's only because of the Rooney news.

I proposed banning the Gossip column tweets before and I don't see why we shouldn't do it.

We already ban content aggregators anyway and the BBC post the links in the article. If people want to discuss the content of one of the stories in the Gossip column they should post the original tweet the BBC are copying. Often it has already been posted by the time the BBC pick it up.

As it is the little yellow BBC logo gives credence to some absolute rubbish that they include in that column.

I agree. There is no need to post the BBC gossip as other tweets we have in this thread already cover the stories the BBC gossip would and it would clear all confusion

Pretty sad that we (me included) are happy to see a player with Rooney's history leave. Things have really changed.

The fans wouldn't have an issue with him if he was adding any value to the squad. He's on too much money, doesn't play and from recent photos isn't even fit. I saw him in Carrick's testimonial against retired players. He mis-hit every pass and generally fell over after any pressure on him.
