Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Hasn't he stalled a bit at Leverkusen? He might have come to the realisation that he's best employed as an impact player. Who knows what's going on in his mind but as I said he'd have to accept that role. I think he might given the experience he's had.
Remember the World Cup is in 2018 as well and is possibly the last one he'll experience so doubt he'd want to become an impact player again as it would mean he wouldn't go to the WC.

Fair enough, he might not. If he's only interested in being the starting striker then sadly he's not an option for us. Just saying that £13m would be good value if he decided otherwise

If there's a buyback clause at £13m, we should exercise it and then sell him on if he doesn't want to be a backup.

Hernandez scored what 11 goals last year? Why on earth is he even being discussed

Chicharito left the club to become a first team player. Why would he come back, as a more established player, to be a sub?
He would not be just a sub, I accept he may not be 'first name on the team sheet' but he could actually play alongside either Morata/Martial/Rashford, but as Zlatan and Rooney are likely to be gone, and Morata is the only other striker coming in then I would expect him to get plenty of game time. (Who would you trust in the box between Martial/Rashford/Chicharito)?

That makes no sense. He's at the point where he should be in the prime of his career. He won't want to go back to being a sub and threatening his place on the national team again.
His place in the national team is not under any great threat, his near iconic united status and worldwide exposure would keep him in the global spotlight, I say bring him home.

1. He's being discussed as a cheap, backup option.
2. I happen to like the little guy.
3. Dearth of good transfer news

 yes but two years is hardly enough time for career retrospection. Id love Chicha here and didnt want him to leave to begin with but If I were him I wouldnt want to come back to sit on the bench again
L.A. Galaxy has been rumoured as well hasn't it? He would be loved there. That's if Trump let him in.

Hernandez is 29, just had a poor season and would take minutes away from Rashford. Other than sentiment, I'm not seeing a great argument for bringing him back.

With reference to him stunting Rashford, I don't really see that happening. Jose loves him and he'll be a regular again.

My argument is that he is a really good finisher and (apparently) available for peanuts. We could have used him in all those dominant home draws we had last year.

Find it hard to believe that Phil Brown has that level of contact with Woodward on a regular basis.
As if Pilib hears from Woodward on our transfer plans

Seriously, why are Tancredi and Pilib even considered here? I know I've said this before but look at the Reddit guide to journo's reliability: Tancredi Palmeri is Tier 4 I think and Pilib De Brown doesn't even make any list!

That Reddit guide should itself be viewed with a degree of skepticism as it basically just reinforces established stereotypes about certain journalists.

So city close to making third signing and if as expected they get 4th in alves, they would have done wonderfully well. Their negotiation team is fantastic in the terms of speed of deals they get through considering edERSON was a third party deal and Bernardo silva was a priced asset of Monaco.
So that is Silva(50 million) Ederson (41 million ) Mendy (40 million) already.
Looks like city will cross 250 million this year with Sanchez(50 million), Walker(50 million),Bertrand(30 million) all lined up.

They will have a seriously good team. If they don't win or come very very close to winning the PL they should fire pep.

Fair enough. But Tancredi is a renowned bs merchant. Pilib is a nice bloke but surely isn't reliable whatsoever?

Anyway, hopefully Tancredi proves me wrong this summer because he is adamant about the Morata fee.

There simply isn't one. I don't get why so many on here still have such a love affair with him.

Bring Nani home!

No. It's the acknowledgement that we're into the "preparing to submit a transfer request" phase.
It's like when you use the app to check how far along your Dominos pizza is.

I still don't believe those Belotti rumours.

Too expensive, too limited, from a league with compatibility issues with regards to forwards and too many cheaper alternatives who are just as good if not better: Timo Werner.

Both are fine. They were both previously banned but were let back on after users complained they had information to share. So now they are back for good. Just ignore them if you find them unreliable. A vast majority of transfer information is extremely speculative anyway.

He is the poster boy of Leipzig, good luck getting him. If Keita costs 70m pounds, Werner would cost much more.

Very true.

Every damn year, they have a 'seriously good team'. But so far they've finished lower than Tottenham in seasons running while Leicester won the title. So their transfers and strength on paper are less relevant than made out

City shows how to do it. Creative and powerful world class or potential world class players ahead of workhorses. They are aiming to top of the Europe, not top4 in PL. I actually waited from United signings like these, but no.

As evidenced by their complete failure to do anything in Europe since the take over.

With those signings i think they will expect more than just prem league. Anyways on to tweets now

I would take Giroud as a back up striker just so that everton or west ham take away Mr fatboy.

They are aiming to do it for nearly 10 years now.

I have no idea who this guy is but I'll take any straw of hope that I can clutch on to.

Edit:

"Alexis Sánchez does not move (from) Arsenal."

Everton must be spending the Lukaku money. I know they have a wealthy shareholder now but surely he isn't that stupid?

Can't decide what is more annoying this window - the DonnaRumma saga or Di Marzio live tweeting everytime Cahanoglu gets into a car or goes to a restaurant.
