Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Looks like Duncan Castles is right after all ..... sigh

His record since Mourinho's been with us has been practically spotless. As I mentioned before, I'm sure him being Mou's mouthpiece must have meant Jose wanted to give us fans the whiff that he isn't a priority for us as we lose him to PSG.

Either way, the second Castles said Fabinho isn't a priority, I gave up hope on that one.

They will or they hope to sign them?

PSG simply responded with an emoji, it was the OG who asked them to announce it. The emoji was obviously done in jest to be a little cheeky, basically confirming it's close or done.

Edit: what @pocco said.

It'll be Matic if anyone for midfield. It's obvious he's our top choice right now. Morata the only other story with any meat on the bones. Perisic a maybe if we cave and pay €50m+.
What an awful window that would be. A strong argument could be made that our starting 11 wouldn't be strengthened at all from last season.

If not weaker unless some of the players really step up, but they didn't during a whole season so I don't know if that'll be a reality or not.

I doubt it, they had a long time to do it last season and didn't. I think what we saw was a lot of players normal level tbh.

Players improve all the time. Players also regress all the time.

I have no doubt some players will step up this season, whilst others will no doubt regress.

I'd have faith in Rashford, Pogba, Mkhi, Bailly and Shaw performing better than they did last season.

I also think Carrick, Fellaini and possibly Valencia will have worse seasons than last.

Martial is a strange one as you'd definitely expect him to improve, however it feels like Mourinho doesn't rate him as all that so his playing time could be marginalised in favour of a new signing or Lingard.

Rojo you have to hope comes back just as strong but at least we have Lindelof in place if not.

Clearly Mkhi and Martial could play way better than they did last season. Same could be said of Shaw. And if we sign Morata only 3 positions still have question mark on them. LB, LW and depending on where Mkhi plays, RW/AM.

So PSG replied with a :)
It doesn't necessarily mean both of them are done deals.
It could be only one is a done deal, and it's their way to acknowledge without giving away any information.
Now, if they had replied with a :D, or a wink, then it's another matter.

Let's just wait for some real news before there's a meltdown here.

No reason to get upset if a player doesn't pick us unless we know we simply fecked up on the business end. Either a player wants to play here or he doesn't. If they d rather play in a league and be near guaranteed a title (PSG or Bayern) then feck em, I don't need another show boating softie like Di Maria. We need balls and a desire to proudly wear that famous badge.

i am so jealous to City, they get rid of shit players relentlessly and buying brilliant players exactly they need. What is wrong with us? We have already locked with the squad full of mediocre players with no exciting targets at all.

Transfers don't take place to get you excited, they're for Mourinho to add players to compliment his strategy for next year.
