Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Are transfer windows always this boring come July 1st?
Apart from the fellaini window this has to be the most boring, we have bought a defender but we all know we need attacking options adding and we seem to be struggling on that front at the moment, let's hope it changes soon as we are off to the states in a couple weeks

I still haven't got over the fact that I woke up hoping that we had signed Fellaini.:(

Yeah pretty much. Maybe you get a few moves and some big buys in June, but a lot comes in July and August. Most teams financial year ends June 30, so their budgets are set up accordingly and purchases are made to those budgets.

Scored only 11 goals in 58 matches last season. He's not a goal scorer, more of a player who moves the team forward with his dribbles and skills to create chances for others to score. We have plenty of these players, Mata, Mikhi and Pogba, etc.

So do City.. Worryingly they just snap talent up whenever it's possible.

Completely different situations to Sanchez who has a pick of clubs.

True, but if we offer him good money and promise him trophies he could choose us over those other teams. If he chooses us and forces a move Wenger can't keep him.

That promise was a lot more substantial under Fergie. Unless he is incredibly impressed by the League and Europa Cup.

Also if he was to miraculously choose us over another club, he might not be able to force a move out of Wenger. Arsenal aren't desperate for the money and may as well just choose to hang onto him until his contract expires. From Wenger's perspective the fans would prefer that than to sell him to us.

Just don't know how he has managed to wangle this move.

They probably remember his loanspell at Roma 5 years ago - he did ok then. But of course 31 League goals at the age of 26 isn't that impressive as a striker. Still more prolific than Welbeck :)

Ah, better hope for a good run-in then... Maybe teams are playing wait and see with these prices quoted. This thread is so slow rn, deprived of muppetry :p

Mighty Milan has fallen so, so low.
They have had a good summer so far. Ricardo Rodriguez, Musacchio, Andre Silva and Kessie. Add their current players like Romagnoli, Bonaventura, Locatelli and Donarumma and in a few years you've got yourself a decent team.

On the verge of signing Calhanoglu as well. Borini is shite, but they're signing him as a squad player as they will also be playing in the Europa League, so it's not a big deal.

2013 summer was awful. All the talk of Kroos, Fabregas, Muller, Bale, Ronaldo none of which I had faith in happening and then got excited and was pleasantly surprised with Herrera as I'd kept an eye on him at Athletic Club only for Moyes to pull out and get Fellaini at the last minute.

Summers under LVG were usually pretty grim too (Shaw and Herrera already done before he started making "his" buys), all the faffing around and not pulling the trigger and leaving things late. Jose was swift last summer and I'm hoping it will be like that this summer as in get all the deals done in July.

I actually think we will see a resurgence from them over the next couple of years, they seem to be making decent initial moves with the new found money.....Borini is a strange one though
