Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

God knows what's going on, it seems to be purely all speculation right now, nothing reliable.

Maybe Di Marzio will provide an update if somebody prompts the question.

I said this a while back - they would only sell one of Bakayoko or Fabinho, whoever was sorted first. Predictably, Chelsea have beaten us to the punch. Matic for us now.

Maybe we wanted Matic which in that case Monaco have done us a favour.

Sanchez relationship with Pep??? He left because he would play on the wing no longer, he hated his final season at barca playing on the wing. when they bought a striker he knew he'd never get a chance. He wants to be the central striker and at arsenal i think it was his best games, remember him sulking on the wing last season.

Stop the myth now, there is no strong relationship between Pep and Sanchez past they know each other.

Seen a few people mention something like this on here and it's not quite right. Guardiola left Barca in 2012, Sanchez left in 2014 - Pep didn't sell him. They had a good relationship and Sanchez's positional issues at Barca post-date Pep's departure. Sure they didn't have a master / apprentice relationship but I've not seen anything from Alexis that's less than complimentary towards Pep.

Regarding the striker / winger issue I've read it's the other way round (at least during his time at Arsenal). He wasn't happy being used as a striker last season as he felt isolated from the game too often. He prefers to play on the left as he's far more involved in the build-up.

Could the info that after Monaco sell Bakayoko nobody else will be leaving be a ploy from Monaco to encourage clubs after their players to just pay up and get the deals finished?

I think that we should conclude a couple of signings by now as we should have our team final line prepared properly.

The fact they've already signed Tielemans and Meite makes me believe they're preparing for life without Bakayoko and Fabinho

Simon Stone just tweeted that Duncan Castles said that "To explain failure to sign Fabinho, Juve said he'd agreed to join Utd"

which might explain Di Marzio, but what explains the Bouhafsi tweet saying we are in negotiations?

I don't think any journo knows what exactly is going on. All of it seems a bit of a guessing game without any real substance. Castles has been reliable recently but at the same time he's also put out a lot of nonsense as well so he's not the all seeing oracle he's made out to be.

Just to harp on this some more. ANOTHER discussion of our transfers by Simon Stone, yet absolutely silent on Matic.

Stone/BBC have now discussed Fabinho twice, keane once, lindelof once.

Could castles actually be onto something here? BBC/Stone not reporting matic because it's a deal that requires chelsea to sign two players before Conte will agree?
