Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Just to harp on this some more. ANOTHER discussion of our transfers by Simon Stone, yet absolutely silent on Matic.

Stone/BBC have now discussed Fabinho twice, keane once, lindelof once.

Could castles actually be onto something here? BBC/Stone not reporting matic because it's a deal that requires chelsea to sign two players before Conte will agree?

To me, it just shows how clueless the english journls are regarding our transfers this summer. Won't be surprised if we announced one od our targets from out of the blue without any of the press "releasing" the exclusive first.

Quite a bit of their fringe players are about to leave, so they need some versatile players to improve their squad depth and Borini fits the bill.

Borini cannot believe his luck. He's been garbage since that 1 half decent season at Swansea in the championship years back

Stealing a living

Well it would seem Mournhio is allowing some of the best available attacking talents to go elsewhere this summer, seems to be his master plan.
Quite how, pray, do you arrive at this conclusion? Unless you think Bernardo Silva (the only actual deal for any kind of attacking player done yet) qualifies for as part of "some of the best available attacking talents". The window hasn't even officially opened yet and we're in for - based on reports - Morata, Perisic and Fabinho; if you consider other inputs, we're also interested in James. Kane isn't for sale; Bale, Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Suarez and Lewandowski aren't moving. Nobody rates / wants Lacazette (and it's contentious if he's even available) while Auba's demands are seeing only China in for him.

By all accounts (German media broke this several days ago if I'm not wrong), Alexis wants City+Pep and Bayern believe that's why he made ludicrous wage demands, hoping they'd back off and leave City with a clear path. In this context, I don't see how this is Jose "allowing some of the best available attacking talents to go elsewhere this summer" .

I'd also like to thank the good folk posting all the tweets. It is much appreciated by many, I'm sure. Especially since it takes time to make sure they are higher quality. Cheers for doing it!

Why go after less expensive players when you can get fleeced by Real Madrid for 80m or 150m for Mbappe? That's what some of our fans want anyway.

You think Sanchez would be less than £80m? Also I don't think Arsenal will sell to us.

Ignore this rating system, Borini is just poor signing and just a waste of wages at Milan.

Literally just came to say the same thing. I don't really use this thread but am always checking the feed of tweets. Top effort from all the twittererers.

This could end up in a civil war at United if things don't start moving.

Jose doesn't get the players he wants and he WILL publicly say that when we are out of the title race in October.

Come on Ed, give us at least a shot.

That's the worry. Jose will stick to the script at first, saying how difficult it was and that he still has a good squad. If we cannot score and have not signed his desired forward, the proverbial will hit the fan. Jose has gone for players who technically should be easier to sign than the really big names. If Ed does not deliver, Jose sure as hell will not want to take the blame for the outcome. Although the problem he does have is the names are people we should get, but is dependent on their parent club getting who they want.

Calm down you both. At this time last summer we also had signed only one player, a defender.

Its all a ploy to get rid of Jose. Sign nobody, and sack him when we are crap.

Ed was recently seen in the company of one David Moyes, be afraid be very afraid.

True. Just think Jose might not be as chilled if we are scrabbling about on transfer deadline day. We might find it eventful, but Jose will be going purple in the face.

The Mourinho needs to change his type of players because more than anything last season we lacked goals and players like Bernardo Silva and Alexis Sanchez score goals.

Scored only 11 goals in 58 matches last season. He's not a goal scorer, more of a player who moves the team forward with his dribbles and skills to create chances for others to score. We have plenty of these players, Mata, Mikhi and Pogba, etc.

I think our only current problem is the fees asked by the selling clubs, but we have total agreements with players like Perisic and Morata. If the doors are closed and we find no other solutions, we'll overpay to secure both players and end the deal. I think Ed is just still trying to finish both deals at a much reasonable price, but he'll overpay if he finds no other solutions and the time starts to run out of him.

It is rumoured that Inter might negotiate a new contract with Perisic. It is risky tactic to save money. Morata might just get fed up and stay where he is and then we still overpay for other options anyway, who might not be entirely to Jose's liking.

They sold us RVP and we sold them Welbeck, there's nothing in trying. The prices being thrown around for Sanchez is less than 80m. When teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid can unsettle players, why can't we do it? Would you rather pay 80m for a unproven player or a proven PL player?

Actually I have seen other rumors saying he'll refuse any new contract to sign for United but If Perisic deal failed then we'll move to the other replacement in the list. Jose himself said during the season he won't expect all his first options to come and thus why he'll give Ed multiple options so it's fine. On the other hand, I don't think Morata will be willing to stay as a squad player for another season in his career with the world cup coming next summer. He's the most one who wants this deal to get complete to be a main starter finally and proves his worth so it depends on if Ed will overpay for him or not. I think we'll since the other replacements ( Belotti ) will cost even much more anyway.

I'll only start to worry if we started the pre-season with only Lindelof, but till now a deal can get completed in 1-2 days, so let's wait.

Haha yeah I know he's absolutely shite, but I guess they want him for his versatility and the fact he's Italian is probably another bonus for them. Feck knows

They sold us RVP because he ONLY wanted to go to us and they had to sell him to make any money. We sold them Welbeck because he wasn't wanted by Van Gaal. Completely different situations to Sanchez who has a pick of clubs.

I think we have tried/asked but realised there's not much point in the non-football manager world. But to answer your last question, obvious would like Sanchez over Morata. But I'm being realistic.

Yes. Wanna bet? He's also right about the stupidity of our transfer strategy too, god knows how people are lapping it up on here as much as they are.

How do you seem to know so much about the players we have gone for and most likely have had the player and their club reject us, which is the likely Sanchez scenario.

To be fair, I think you are right as it will be lower as he only has 12 months left on his contract. It seems as though he is only interested in working with Pep. Arsenal are also more comfortable selling to City than us.

Are transfer windows always this boring come July 1st?

To be fair the window doesn't open till July 1st but generally no, but I think clubs are genuinely baulking at the prices right now. It's all astronomical.
