Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

What's the deal with Sports Witness? They're not actually journalists are they?
Sport Witness were great last season. Have they changed journalists/owners? (offtopic a wee bit sorry).
They collate, translate and contextualise transfer stories from around the world. They used to be really good at breaking down the reliability of specific rumours but that doesn't pay the bills as well as clickbaity tweets and headlines so they've shifted their style a lot as of late. Still an important resource given how accurate their translations are compared to certain other sites and newspapers.

Thanks.

City are close to signing Eric Garcia from Barcelonas academy according to twitter. Something around a €2m fee for the 16 year old CB. I'd be lying if I said I knew anything about him.
Best young CB apparently.

Eric Garcia, is the best Center of the #FCBMasia. It will be the ManCity player for the next 4 seasons. It will leave a little less than 2 M in box

It's a big loss, just as big as that of Mboula if not bigger. In the case of Garcia, he's actually Catalan and managed by Puyol. If there was ever an indictment of how disastrous things are within the club & its cantera, it's seeing a pearl of La Masia follow Pep to City

Or Girona

Or Girona

Yeah, that's an option I suppose but probably still too early for him to play in the first division much less Segunda, IMO. If he had stayed at Barcelona he'd be playing in Juvenil A which participates in the UEFA Youth League,

I think Nainggolan is on pretty low wages at Roma, even with his contract negotiations there. Would be an easy get if they are willing to sell.

Could it be that we want both Fabinho and Matic?
We definitely need 2 midfielders - our only credible sub is inexperienced Pereira. Not sure if spending 40 millions on a squad option is okay though.

They won't sell easily, as they already received huge sums from Liverpool and Zenit this summer.

AS Roma made an offer for Gonalons. The player wants the move.

Bored.

Need something to get my inner muppet mojo going.

To be honest I'd even get excited reading sensationalist BS today.

Just pains me to think of another season with dross from Rooney, Lingard and fellaini

Our problem last year was not scoring enough goals. While we may need midfielders we need someone to put the ball in the net

Heard this was a case of City offering the kid waaay too much money

Does this guy happen to play in Naingollans position? A guy can dream...
Would be a replacement for Paredes you'd think. Monchi is building a treasure chest. Surely to be able to fund a big signing at some point. Perhaps for Dzeko whenever that sale happens or a proper midfielder of course. They're looking at bringing in Pellegrini back from Sassuolo as well, might be a potential Nainggolan replacement who knows.

The idea does not lack sense. Matic is more of a deep lying playmaker than a DM. That's something most people miss. People try to lock him into a DM role but he is not at his best playing that role. Meanwhile, if Fabinho is not playing right back, his best role is as a DM.

Moreover, compare Madrid's midfield with United's midfield:

Real Madrid's Midfield

Modric

Asensio

Casimero

Isco

James Rodriguez

Kovacic

Kroos

Manchester United's Midfield

Pogba

Carrick

Mata

Herrera

Fellaini

Mikhi

Lingard

Timothy Fosu Mensah

Replace Fellaini and Fosu Mensah or Carrick with Matic and Fabinho and suddenly we are looking better. Replace Lingard and Mata with James Rodriguez / Dembele or Pereira and suddenly we are looking great.

Replace Mata with Periera??
