Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

What are fabinho and Dembele's partners following. Bloody hell sometimes I miss the days when the first you knew about a signing was seeing a picture of him with a scarf above his head. ( yet im still here checking tweets)

Yes, I shoulo have phrased my post differently. Wat they really need is to sign GOOD defenders and leaders. That is one thing Wenger has failed at miserably in for pretty much the last 15 years in my opinion. He hasnt signed a world class centre back since SOl Campbell a long long time ago. Vermalen was good for one season and Kosciely is a decent defender but he has signed loads of crap ones. They were fleeced for Mustafi who is a slightly better version of Senderos, Gabriel is a worse version of Chris Smalling in that he can actually defend but his footbal brain is as thick as pig shit. Rob Holding looks fairly promising bu not special and when was the last leader he signed? I think he has done brilliantly at Arsenal and the fans have treated him dreadfully the last 3 or 4 years.....but he is doing nowhere near as well as he did in his first 5/6 years within the transfer market. I think he lost the dressing room last year and am surprised he didnt walk. They will struggle this season for sure in terms of breaking back in to the top four, wouldnt mind betting he is gone by Christmas which would be sad considering all he has done for the club

And why do you think manolas is any better?

Do you realise this guy is the wheelchair bound mentally disable fan that handed Van Gaal the tongue-in-cheek transfer list?

That's not him ffs. Hesham handed the list to him outside our training ground.

Prospective players' partners have been the most reliable source of information for a good few summer's now.

Was it not already debunked that the Instagram system doesn't work in the same way the Twitter one does -- the listing is arbitrary and not by recently followed?

I'd assume her following the club was something done recently (within the past however many weeks), and Morata will most likely happen soon, but this isn't proof in the way the tweet alludes to.

She followed it tonight.

Would have to agree. Arsenal for example are getting linked with all sorts of attacking players, from the very young with potential to strikers like Lacazette. Yet what they really need are leaders and a decent centre back probably as much as anything else, he would be perfect for them.
Maybe Klopp is asleep at the wheel on this one dreaming of VVD?

:nono:Party pooper!

Yeah tonight. Her and Morata have spent the whole day on a yacht off the balearic islands so it could only mean that something happened. Or she's a massive troll. lol

Our project needs a goal scorer too. Just because its pep and resting on his past laurels all the attacking talents must join his project? Even when there is no space, its ridiculous. He just finished trophyless with a better squad and has never won this league before.

He has good relationship with Pep since Barca and knows his system quite well, has nothing to do with Pep being successful or not.

Don't know much about Nainggolan, what's he like?

Not really a CDM so have no idea why we're being linked to him, would say he's more of a b2b, often played #10 for Roma so deffo not a CDM.

And why do you think manolas is any better?

Strength, positioning, reading of the game, organisation and leadership possibilities. He would be if it were up to me probably on the second tier of centre backs we should consider. Mustafi and Gabriel wouldnt be on the radar at all. And what did they pay for Mustafi 35m odd, thats probabloy more like 45m this summer, ridiculous fee for a defender that had one decent not even good season for Valencia, awful business. Would you not think Manolas would be a better partner for Koscielny than Mustafi, Gabriel or Mertersacker? I know the grass isnt always greener and we can overhype foreign players and Im not lauding him as a brilliant world star or anything but he has performed to a good level for several years now and Koscielny is about the only Arsenal centre back that has done too in well over a decade, that is really poor for a side that has played champions league football every season

IMO he would be great next to pogba, in front of a defensive mid. Can be a box to box, though played a more attacking role almost like how pogba does for us for Roma last season. All action midfielder type, though almost no chance that he'll come.

So english low tier journo's pushing Matic and saying no interest in fabinho.

Bouhafsi and Di Marzio both confirm ongoing talks for Fabinho and Di Marzio claims we've bid

No update at all from Simon stone on Matic, but he still thinks no interest in fabinho.

I think we are either signing both, or the english media is being led down the "michael keane" dead end again.

Would Pogba furthest forward with Nainggolan and Herrera behind him sharing defensive duties be viable? Sounds like Nainggolan typically plays a little further forward but from the little I have seen of him he seems to have the energy and steel to play that role.

It would be the usual 433 we're used to. Herrera would drop into the Carrick role with Naingolan taking his position at RCM with Pogba at LCM.

I'd suggest that we'd play a three with Naingollan operating a little further forward than Pogba. Pogba I think is at his best when he's collecting the ball from defenders with space to run into or space to spread the ball.

Theyre entirely different players. Also, if it was one or the other, it's a no brainer.

someone else said it earlier on here: for all these supposed "list briefings" to the UK media, the UK media surprisingly has no consensus as to whom is on said list or what position they are being scouted for.:lol:

Barcelona are indeed run by clowns atm but the stance on cantera players, for me, is appropriate considering the poaching that goes on for these same players. That being said, I hope very much that Bellerin is not signed and an alternative is sought, like Semedo.

No, no. Sign Bellerin please.
