Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

It's from Marca though, so I will take that report with a large pinch of salt as they are always biased. Anyway, we are still on track in getting our summer business done - it's only 14 June. This time last year, we had only signed Bailly.
You could see this coming a mile away the moment Marca first slipped the 90M figure. They hold all the cards and it is us and the player missing out preseason, not having certainties throughout the window, etc.

We should switch to Mbappe. They are in no rush because they are indifferent about getting him now or next season. Why not put a question mark on that?

Marca printing BS again for clicks.
They don't really. They are a mouthpiece to manage fan sentiment and if Real are managing it in this direction they have no intention to climb down from that stance.

all of their media clickbait transfers for traffic, as do british ones. In the space of 12 hours SER have said it would be done within 36 hours and he's leaving because of gametime, Marca have printed numerous articles saying he'll be the most expensive spanish player ever, and now they are saying Madrid would be happy if he stays and he's not that bothered about leaving.

A complete set of contradictions within the mediasphere within 12 hours. The only thing gained from it: clicks and revenue.

Because he's 18, has performed impressively for 6 months, would cost in excess of 120 million, and reportedly wants to go to Real.

Sure, but they don't call Firenze Hannover and Venezia Paris. They call Munchen with the name of a totally different city. (Londra and Ginevra are alright names, Monaco isn't).
The transition from Munich to Monaco seems pretty straightforward to me.
Ending vowel as all Italian words and u turned into an o.

As to Monaco/Montecarlo, that is a no-issue, as Montecarlo is the official name of the city centre, while Monaco of the state.

Has he done that well in Italy? Not watched him but when he was in England he was prone to mistakes and had a few disciplinary problems with smoking.
He's improved a lot, by far the best keeper in Serie A this season.

We'll see. Other reliable outlets in Spain saying a del is close to being agreed.
That €90m figure sound like bull unless it's heavily laden with performance clauses.

Marca have been saying 90M since last week and that isn't contradictory with most expensive Spanish transfer.

Kaka went for 55/60m that summer so not sure where you are getting 35 million from, Ronaldo was also a ballon d'or winner in waiting.

Ronnie had already won the Dor, Also Xabi etc were going for 30m so the other guy is correct ref prices.

Kaka/Ronnie/Messi were "super" elite players.

You not taking into account wages though. Smalling moving to any of those teams will probably see him instantly become one of the top earners.

This is often why we get relatively low fees. We effectively have to subsidise what the new club will be paying in wages by taking a lower transfer fee. It's our own fault for paying such high wages in the first place (although sometimes that is obviously necessary).
That's a fair point. But, in the case of Smalling a quick search on google suggests that he is on 80k a week, which is easily affordable for pretty much any PL team now. So £25m would be very reasonable.

I know, I'm not a Mbappe fanboi. Just saying unless he has clearly ruled us out (which we should know) we could go there just to make them get the jitters. Whether that makes sense or not I'm in no position to judge.

Isn't Gabriele Marcotti supposed to be reliable?

"I've been led to believe that United had other priorities (to Fabinho) other top targets in that defensive midfield position, among them of course Eric Dier.

"But Fabinho they view as an alternative. If they can't get Dier, they're not going to be held to ransom by Dier or anybody else, then Fabinho is somebody that they rate.

"They like his versatility, he can also play at full-back of course.

"They like his tactical intelligence and think they can get him at a reasonable price."

Yeah, that's one way to turn 70 into 90, one I wouldn't be remotely fussed about (win PL/CL, player staying 5+ years, whatever so long as it isn't appearance/goals based as that is what you are buying with the 70M already).

Deal with levy and his "get stuffed" price tags or get a player that has a soft spot for us and is supposedly an option. Hopefully we look at the futility of challenging levy and move on to fabinho.

Also, Fabinho is the better player by a distance. I can only assume Mourinho has Specific type of DM in mind and thinks Dier fits better.....if this is true of course.

If we offer Levy 30-40m for Dier, I imagine he'll be very, very receptive to the idea of selling him, in fact he'll he absolutely ecstatic.

At least he's not saying we aren't in for Fabinho. I doubt Levy would ever sell us Dier especially as they are likely already losing Walker. Hopefully means we'll just tie up Fabinho and move on to other targets, this one should be a slam dunk seems like no one else is really in for him and he wants to come to us

If they're holding out for 80m gbp, then screw em and move on. Surely Lacazette or another striker would be as good an investment for that amount.

We should sign none of their players and let them make no money of transfers this season. If no one bought their players they would have serious cash flow problems but instead they are selling their 3rd choice players for record figures.

Why would we have Dier as first choice and Fabinho as plan B? It makes no sense whatsoever.

Dier was literally dier last night, I know Pogba was on fire but he looked a real mug, if he really is the answer to DM then he'll we are in trouble.
We all saw the benefit in France's team of playing a true DM in Kante, Pogba was a sensation, Fabinho looks streets ahead of Dier to me, but regardless of opinions it's obvious we need a player to play behind Pogba or we will get another season with Pogba playing with too much defensive responsibility.

If we don't pay the money for Morata, we'll have to pay even more (£87m) for Belotti. Lacazette isn't really an option (aerial presence/hold-up play).
