Slightly concerned that our first signing is a Defender when it was attacking that was our problem last season!

The Muppet in me is on panic mode!

What does it matter which order we sign the players? We'll probably have 3-4 new signings done before the start of the tour. That's all that matters.

Very happy with lindelof, the signing makes a lot of sense. However still a lot of work left.

If true, which it won't be, we should go for a different target.

Who ? Belotti or Lukaku who are imo inferior players to Morata and both cost more money. Everton are asking £100m for Lukaku and Torino are asking £84m for Belotti.

Would rather pay a ridiculous fee to Torino than a ridiculous fee to RM.

That is just silly, I'd rather get Morata for £78m than Belotti for £84m, simply because it is a better deal for United.

RM doesn't need us for money, they have plenty of resources even if they don't sell Morata.

Don't know if this guy is banned, but he is chattier than usual so here goes.

@fedoaleks @Chris_Hart7 Lindelof and Morata are the focus for this week. Medicals if all is completed in good time.

I`ll remove it if he is in the banned list.

There's zero evidence that he works for the club.

Don't really care tbh, if Real Madrid want to be twats just because they are salty about us keeping our best player let them fund M'bappe from elsewhere. Bellotti is just as good as Morata for Mourinho's style anyway, maybe even better. Scoring 26 goals in 34 games in the Serie a for Torino is nothing to joke about.

So they contacted them not with a bid but to announce that they are going to bid

Yeah, of course...

Also they match any unspecified offer from Munich.

Meanwhile Arsene in London: Alright accountants. Got it done with the krauts. Right City an invoice over $500M. 10% to Munich for their corporation.

Don't agree

Why? is there anything Mourinho loves more than a mobile, tenacious target man?

His technique is non existent, he is a poacher not a striker that will create chances for himself and others, his bread and butter goals are headers which require good crosses to materialize and if there is anything that this team can't do well it is providing our strikers with good crosses.

Many people say when they have seen him play he didn't look like a good player at all. He has all the makings of a player that has had a one season wonder at Torino, I doubt he will be able to build on it in a better league like the PL. Of all the strikers we have been linked with, he seems like the one with the most risk and the most questionmarks. Spending £84m on him is ridiculous.

Morata is proven at Juve and Madrid, is experienced on the international level and CL. He isn't a goal machine but given minutes played per goal scored he is still very good. But the thing is Morata is a striker with technique, someone who can involve others in the attacking play, someone who can open spaces and create chances, which you will simply not get with Belotti.

I wouldn't go anywhere near Belotti unless he is the last option available and his price tag is no more than £50m. ATM £84m for him is a big no go for me. Especially not if Morata can be picked up for less.

What do I care that the money will go to Madrid. If they are getting Mbappe, they are getting Mbappe, if it is not with our money, it will be with someone else's.

Spot on.

Relax my friend. Like the old saying goes, attack starts from defence as much as defence starts from attack. :)

He's better than Jones but whichever of the two stays is going to be 4th choice. Jones is much more likely to be happy and settled with that role in the squad (essentially what he was this season). I doubt Smalling is going to accept being so far down the pecking order

I know a lot of people hate on Smalling but he basically never played with Rojo, him and Jones together are both awful. Jones only looked solid next to Rojo. Smalling likewise looked much more comfortable with Blind, a natural left sided CB who wasn't an aggressive style defender.

When Smalling played with Bailly I don't think their styles suited, both are aggressive and like to press and win the ball back quickly. Smalling has always looked class when playing next to Blind, I'm sure he'll do well whenever he goes but frankly he's just not good enough at this level (pretty much like Johnny Evans)

I don't think so. The reason Smalling looked so great in LVG's year was that we had the ball all the time. When we didn't it was DDG that pulled us out of the shit not the defence.

I don't understand this transfer at all. Firstly why is only City & Bayern linked with him if he is available? Why would Sanchez want to go to City after the same manager left him on the bench at Barcelona? And why do City need him when they have so many forwards and no defenders? I will be gutted if he moves there.
