Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

He will be excellent for us but that's mental. I was thinking it would be more around the £20 million mark. We don't have money issues anymore though so i doubt Koeman cares how much he spends as long as he gets his targets.

I don't think he will be that good tbh.

It is alright at a team like Sunderland pulling off 10 saves from 100 shots and looking decent but when you aspire to be a decent team and the keeper is letting in 2 out of 3 shots because his concentration lapses when he isn't being peppered.

I think he will go the way of Foster etc.

I'm not so sure about that - you could get a very good keeper for less than the money you would get for De Gea and the difference to the team would not be that much, certainly not as much as an outfield player. This is just my opinion on keepers generally though - there are plenty of very good ones about and the difference between them is much less pronounced than the difference between two comparitive outfield players.

I disagree with that. I could go on and explain in detail but It's not worth it as neither will change opinions on this.

Sky Sports : Manchester United have made a "very important offer" for Alvaro Morata, the Real Madrid striker's agent has said.

It's fecking huge, what is this guy, the new someone or other?

It's just a number, not that he will be sold for that money. It's just a way to protect his contract. Apparently James Rodriguez release clause is 500 Million.

Nah, It's just a feck off number, if you want to keep the player for the remainder of his contract (5 years) you have to plan for the market inflating,

Just last summer, a 100m release clause looked like a "yeah no-one is bidding this" now its a laughable sum that has been rejected for an 18 year old.

In two more years will 100m be the price for Liverpool will bid for some Southampton player?

You undervalue keepers way too much.

Can we have Lloris for £5m then please?

As well as everyone has just explained about the clause stuff; yeah, Asensio really is a highly rated talent. Most likely the best Spanish prospect out there.

What a mental price

Do you think that's accurate? I wonder if its anywhere near that even including unobtainable bonuses. Its Madness how they inflated prices are par for the course. It can't be sustainable. Imagine all the hooha around 88M for Pogba including bonuses etc now we have a striker that can't get a long run of games for Madrid and is 3rd in the pecking order (or maybe 4th) costing near 90M. It's not that we don't have the funds but bloody hell.

So annoying how the likes of Juve and Bayern can Hoover up all the best domestic talent for staggeringly cheap prices yet the same clubs are reluctant to sell for cheap abroad and often tout the players for three times what they're worth.
You'd think the opposite would be true and they'd want to prevent those clubs from running a monopoly on the league. The PL is just awash with cash and every team in the world knows it.

I have no sympathy for English clubs, we are all as greedy as sin.

The money all the Prem make they could easily reduce ticket prices to be in line with our German counterparts. So I actually find it quite gratifying that we have to pay through the nose.

Zidane told Morata (in a recent meeting) that Benzema at the 100% is ahead of him

Borja Valero, one step from Milan

Morata has 15 goals and 4 assists compared to Benzema's 11 and 5, Zidane is an idiot to be fair.
For what I heard Zidane is happy with Morata but thinks that Benzema is technically better (for example the semifinals against Atlético) and plays well with Cristiano.
Anyway he´s being unfair sometimes during the season

Absolutely not an idiot. Benzema dragged them into the final with his beautiful skill against Atletico in the second leg. In the final he caused so much havoc for the Juve defense, defenders dropped like flies. Personally taking the whole player into account, i think Benzema is much more clever, his overall movements are brilliant and despite not scoring every game, he's efficient in what he does. Personally i'd take Benzema over Morata any day of the week, but Benzema is not for sale. He's that good.

Benzema sacrifices his goal tally and is used more of a distraction for Cristiano, he's still a great player.

Saying that though it's no slight on Morata either. It's just unfortunate for him Benzema is ahead of him, and the attack works fine.
