  • I know it's Pilip, may not be trustworthy, but that Rooney bit if true really stinks up his legacy with us. Wonder who are the 6 players who can leave: Rooney, Januzaj, Young, Smalling/Jones?

Darmian/Shaw and Martial, I would guess.

If true then I think they should say no and just force him to be in the reserves until his contract is over. If he truly wants out then he should accept the contract being rendered null and void without payment.

Players Leaving my guess would be: Rooney, Shaw, Januzaj, Fellaini, Young, Smalling

Rooney leaving was the #1 deal I wanted done this off season. I don't even care if we pay his contract up front, I just want the cloud of him at this club gone

Always figured he'd want paying, we've paid him money for nothing for two years anyway, one more wont hurt.

Why sell him if you're losing money? His wages are circa 15m per year and no team will pay that for him now. Might as well sit him on the bench and use him for commercial purposes.

City don't want him. Can't sell him because of his wages. Ridiculous that they can essentially hold him in limbo and keep sending him out on loan until his contract expires. He is not some youth player who could use a season or two of seasoning. the problem with the wages most likely stem from the wages he is on with his City contract. Same thing they ran into with Adebayor.

Can't blames city for that though can you? If he wants a permanent move then he should accept a pay cut

That's pocket change to United and better to free up the bench space than have a worthless has-been taking up space on it, when he's on it's like we are playing with 10 men, just get rid.

Rooney ... He has a contract to honor, just like Man Utd does. If he wants his wages, he should rot quietly on the bench and hope he can get some game time vs the likes of Peterbourough United or Leyton Orient in the first rounds of EL Cup or FA Cup. If he wants to play... then probably is about time he gets paid what he actually deserves. About 50k a week, rather than 250k.

The 6 players ... Rooney, Young, Januzjaj, CBJ must be part of that number. I hope Shaw and Martial are given one last chance and Fellaini might stay, he's a good option.

I'd keep Rooney and only let him in the squad for the League Cup games... like Schweinsteiger this season. And I'd tell him this right now in pre-season...
The league cup is an important competition. The reserves are gagging for a striker though, may as well make use of him for the year and give 99% of the English press an aneurysm whilst we're at it.

Sounds about right. Blind has quality though, doubt he will be sold unless he's unhappy with his role.

Could be referring to other fringe youth players? Januzaj is almost a surety. Maybe also James Wilson and Johnstone? Possibly even Borthwick-Jackson?

In todays market nobody has paid yet. All these clubs throw around fecking crazy fees in the press. How many deals have really been agreed to?

22 years old , 59 games, 5 goals and 10 assists in Serie A. No senior games for Serbia. If that guy is worth €70M than Mbappe must be north of €250M. Poor Mgladbach. Dahoud is younger, nearly doubled up those stats and goes for a €10M release clause. No wonder Liverpool wanted to give him a huge signing bonus.

Nobody said he was worth 70m. But he is also not worth 30m. Pay the price or leave. If Lazio would be as dumb as Gladbach, yeah, then they would have put a buyout clause in his contract of 20m and Liverpool would be laughing. If you havent watched him, dont comment please and if you cant stand the inflated prices, best to change the sport category

If true then the fans should boo him every time he steps into OT, greedy mofo.

Is de Brun counted as a reliable source? Think he often talks crap.

He occasionally has some interesting info. That said, most of these people are journos so anything they offer up isn't necessarily true. Its just hearsay and speculation based on their own sources. Believe what they say at your own peril.

So Di Marzio is wrong? We do need to replace Carrick sooner or later. Our CM options are quite bare - Herrera, Pogba, Fellaini and Carrick for 2 or 3 positions do not fill me with confidence. English journos seldom get the inside track with our transfers these days anyway.

Are we really complaining about Rooney ? The club offered him a contract, he agreed and is now honoring it. Not his fault that the club offered him ridiculous wages and now can't get rid of him because of their own mistake.
