Probably for their next signings, "impress here and you could end up playing for Arsenal(or whoever)", sounds a lot better than, "we could be your stepping stone to West Ham".
He just said we are interested in Fabinho or something like that. That doesn't mean much unfortunately.
I recall Di Marzio mentioning that Griezmann wasn't a top priority for us 24 hours before everyone else was 'briefed'.
I tend to agree about Perisic and Did Maria in terms of the price. Surely he won't come back though?
