Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

What is probably indisputable is that he tends to play very conservatively and mostly defensively against the big teams and his games against the big teams are often the most watched and defining games during a season. Perhaps this is why the 'boring' tag has been hung on him.

I dont think that was the case when he played against us with chelsea or real madrid or even inter. When he plays against top Posession based sides, they press high and recover the ball quickly in the midfeild and keep it better so his team gets sloppy in posession because mourinho's teams never pass the ball sideways and backwards while in posession and always go forwards vertically and backwards most of the time resulting in Posession losses so the defense is deep and narrow with wide wingers helping out defensively to stop the full back overlap because other team keeps the ball better,And thus by absorbing pressure he expects to exploit space in behind the high line and counter. So these type of teams get annoyed seeing 9 men in front of them every time and gave him that tag.

To play against Posession based sides you need to keep the ball a lot better and mourinho's teams dint have any type of players who could do that in high pressure. So the wingers are then expected to make off the ball attacking runs in space behind to release the pressure and also counter which requires high work rate and engine and top stamina for the right balance which not many players have.

Morata will get done, but it will take a few more turns before it's over. To be expected.

Right on. How many have actually seen him over his career. It's weird.

To be fair, his career has been fairly unspectacular. He's definitely a talent, and I've bet on him, and won money on him scoring on more than one occasion for Croatia, but his profile is not that of a €50m forward player. He's spent a large amount of his career at second tier clubs, and a spell at Dortmund where he wasn't really a key player.

I think he's good, but it is not surprising that many think he's not the man to inject attacking quality into the side and take us forward. If it was surprising, so many people wouldn't think it. Martial from his first season is a far better player in my opinion, and I'd like to see that player on the left for us.

Koeman has spoken to Klaasen. Ajax ask for €30M. Transfer imminent.

Valencia playing RB, Darmian played LB/LWB/CB, Rojo played RB, Jones played DMF, Tuanzebe played DMF/CMF, Pogba played DMF, Herrera played DMF, Young played RB/LB/RWB/LWB, Fellaini played DMF/CMF/SS, Rashford played LW/RW, Martial played RW/LW, Miki played RW/RWB/RB/LW/LWB, Mata played RW/CMF, Rooney played RW/LW/CMF...
Seriously?
What planet you have been living on these past few years? Valencia have been playing RB for a while now. Same goes for Young covering the fullbacks slot when need arised. mkhi, Martial, Rashford, Mata, Rooney. Its not like they haven't played all those positions before with previous clubs/managers.
Thank you for confirming our suspicion about you.

"Morata - sideways move from Ibra."
Ibra is either gone or at best available around January if recovery goes smoothly.
Will be gone either way 18/19 season.

"Lindelof - sideways move from Rojo."
Rojo has a serious injury and at best available around January if recovery goes smoothly.

"Perisic - sidewys move from a Martial, Mkhi or Mata."
Great to have an option to field when Martial is in his strop and Mkhi/Mata are not performing.

Couldn't find anything definite on it, but I thought that Rojo's injury wasn't quite as serious as Ibra's, and that he would be back before January.

They sure do, i read earlier this weekend that Rashford is a better player than Belotti. There are some shite opinions on the caf.
But that's a bit different to having a proper opinion. Perisic has been playing for a while now for people to have an informed opinion. The Belotti Rashford comparisons are baseless and hence hold no substance and should be ignored

Everton's midfield is already pretty strong, I think they'd be better off giving Davies more game time than signing Klaassen. They need to sign a keeper and a few centre backs first.

Álvaro Morata will be the most expensive Spanish footballer in history. The player will leave Real Madrid for Manchester to play for United. José Mourinho wants to strengthen his team with the Madrid striker and hopes to close the transfer for less money than Real Madrid asks for, 90 million euros.

The agreement between the player and Manchester is total and their departure, imminent. In fact Morata has already informed the club of his plans. Everything indicates that the operation will close around 70 million a figure that would make him the most expensive Spanish signing in history, surpassing the 58.5 million euros that Chelsea paid Liverpool to Fernando Torres.

The list of more expensive Spanish players of the history completes Gaizka Mendieta, by which the Lazio disbursed 48 million to the Valencia. He is followed by Juan Mata who left Chelsea for Manchester United for 45 million. David Villa and Javi Martinez cost 40 to Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively. Liverpool paid 38 kilos for Fernando Torres to Atletico, the same amount that received the set colchonero by Diego Costa. United paid Athletic Club 36 million by Ander Herrera and Real Madrid 35 to Liverpool by Xabi Alonso.

All the coke comes in through Liverpool doesn't it? :smirk:

This pretty much sums up how we're all feeling right now.

That just reminded me, he is supposed to be off on his honeymoon later this week. That should stop Real pissing about, it would be bad form to carry on in that context.

Yeah they are still in Ibiza as of yesterday. I'd expect things to move forward once he gets back to Madrid.
