Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

This summer is giving me De ja vu over the Moyes summer. Where we end up landing no one. I know its my shit nerves doing the talking.

You need to calm down.

All the European clubs are going to be left with unhappy players if they continue to block their moves to bigger clubs if they keep demanding stupid money for their players, or maybe it's just United?

Anyway, these Lindelöf rumours won't go away until he fecks off to Russia or China like Garay did.

After Man City fail to agree wages with Mendy, others ready to move... Man United have real interest.

Mourinho expresses ‘concrete interest’ to beat Guardiola to €45m deal, City fail on wages agreement.

From L'Equipe.

If people go as nuts over Lindelöf as the Perisic rumour then i'm outta here.
 Can't say I've watched him much, but I wouldn't mind him from what I've read. It's portuguese media and Benfica though. Watch him get signed by Roma or some club like that for 25-30m.

Alvaro Morata set to hold meeting with #ACMilan officials ahead of reported €60m deal, it has been reported (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Sounds fairly strange to be honest.

Can't see Citeh/Pep losing out on a player due to wages..

Looks like every club in Europe is out to milk us.

Same old, same old.
Will be the same for most PL clubs. 50mill is the new 30mill. Barmy when you consider only 5/6 years ago 20mill was a steep price and usually reserved for a first xi player.

Nowadays 30mill signings are bench options!

if this were true and we somehow got these players, we'd be looking at something like:

Romero
Valencia Bailly Keane Darmian
Matic Pogba
Mkhitaryan Griezmann Perisic
Lukaku
I wonder how well people think this would do....

I think that would do well. I'm a huge fan of Lukaku and I think he'd guarantee us to not drop points against the lower teams. Flat track bullies help you win the league.

Robson reckons he's got the low down on Mou's list

This piece is stupid.

He basically suggests we're not close to signing anyone or even knowing who we're going to sign yet, but Mourinho wants business done by July.

If the former is true, we'l be lucky to get anyone in before the deadline. United transfers drag for months before they're anywhere close to done.

L'Equipe are reliable no? This seems very unlikely (why would City not be able to afford his wages?) but why would L'Equipe report it. Think it's bs there's no way City wouldn't stump up the cash at this point

If clubs like Palace and Everton are willing to pay £20m plus for players, kind of feels natural our 1st XI will be in the £40m+ bracket.

I always associate £30m with Shevchenko to Chelsea. Back then you got one of the best strikers in his generation at his peak, nowadays you get a Bolasie.

We are not signing Matic, why on Earth would he want to join us? Chelsea have 0 reason to sell as well. Ridiculous rumour.

Then later today..."Man City agree deal for Mendy"

Might not be wages, but another aspect of contract (bonuses, agent fees etc). Agree City aren't exactly tight on spending but even they will have a wage structure.

Would assume it's Mendy's camp trying to squeeze a few more £££ out of City. Disregard.

Would love if that was true about Mendy. He will be sensational for City when he signs for them.

The media are just throwing names out as far as we go. Like previous years, asidw from the big stories like Zlatan and Pogba, I really don't think they have a clue what we are up to.

In fact, even some of the City links with players are lazy.

I feel pretty much the same about most of our rumored targets. Most of them just don't make any sense to me. I expect we'll see at least 1-2 Bailly type out of the blue signings.

At this stage I'm left wondering why I was looking forward to silly season. It's like we are the target for all the doom mongering this window.
