Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

It wasn't actually that bad for the most part, like you said the last couple of months were hard to stomach but I'm putting it down to circumstance. A definite improvement on Moyes and LvG though.

I wasn't entirely comfortable with his public criticisms either, but Jones and Smalling have been stealing a living for years now, and leg break aside Shaw has spent most of his time injured or not fit enough. If anything he was just telling them the writing is on the wall.

I sense you're not a big JM fan, which is fine, but the last couple of years the media have really gone with this 'boring angry Mourinho" shit. His own actions haven't helped, but it's become pervasive amongst our own fans now, to the point where journos can peddle these 'fake news' articles without being called out on it.

To make a final point, I don't think Pogba or Zlatan would have joined if LvG was still manager, and Morata wouldn't be considering it either. So we should thankful for Mourinho's influence in that regard.

I agree, rarely any player wanted to join us under LVG, I understand that.

Regarding Zlatan, Mourinho favours him plus the appeal of an opportunity to play for a massive club and prove himself in the most competitive league in the world.

Yeah having almost 450K euro in weekely wages helped as well.

Either way it's a discussion for a different thread.

I would prefer a pragmatic master class against Chelsea vs a drubbing with fancy football ala Arsenal get against the likes of Bayern any day of the week. .

Sure, flavours aren't to be discussed but when you're parking the bus against the likes of Celta, Anderlecht and Ajax, it begs the question.

Christ, give it a rest - your posts are repetitive.

Jose's first Chelsea side and Porto side were a joy to watch. His Real Madrid side scored over 100 goals in a season.

Your argument is hugely flawed and uses lazy cliches. Also, this is the wrong thread for it so why not go and moan about Mourinho in the proper thread.

Are you 12? His Porto side was as negative as his Chelsea side, if not worst. He racked up 100 goals with Madrid back when it was a 2 team league.

If you don't like it, don't read it idc.

And you still haven t given examples of how this has stopped Mourinho from signing players in the past due to his 'dull football'

In fact you just said in your earlier post that it would be impossible to find out.

Yeah you keep ignoring and keep twisting my words the way it suits you, utterly pointless to talk any further.

Why is that?
With regards to transfers, Mourinho is clearly a huge draw. Pogba or Mkhitryan would never have signed for Moyes for example. Some players won't come to him the same way any manager in the world wouldn't draw absolutely everyone.

As to style of play, not really the thread for it but needless to say he rarely played very negative football last season. He only did so when the situation demanded it and that's his job as a manager. Fergie did the same.

Mourinho did what he could with the dross he had, he even improved Fellaini, sometimes it was best to defend and play it safe, especially in the Europa, a lot was at stake in that competition. Judge Jose by next year's football.

Good post. Some people will not give up their lost cause. Not sure if its their pride regarding comments in the past that they can't be seen to make a U-turn on their opinion or if they genuinely hate JM.

€15m sounds fair. He's a very mediocre player. It'd be good to see us buy a talented LB.

I would keep Darmian at that price. He proved himself a solid enough player in the second half of the season.

They have bought Rodriguez, a LB and have agreed terms with Conti, a RB, so i dont see the point to add Darmian to the squad when they already have two or three fullbacks in the squad.

I never said the he isn't a huge draw when it comes to attracting certain players, I even stated that him being UTD manager helped bring in Pogba, Miki and Zlatan but in the same time his antics and style of football are probably creating some doubt with some other players.

Rather keep Darmian, he is good at lb if mourinho wants one fullback to stick to the defensive line while the other bombs on.

Fellaini was pretty solid during the last year of LVG's reign tbh, so don't really get how he improved him. He was doing the same he's doing now.

Fair enough.

But all the noise coming from the Madrid media is about how Madrid have ended all interest in David. Apparently because the players prefer Navas.

Think David will be here next season.
They follow a pattern. This is their "not for now" patrern. If they get Mbappe that's it. If they don't sign him for some reason (increasingly unlikely) they'll be back.

If this is true, we're probably just keeping a 2nd option open in case something happens and Morata transfer fails. I can't see us spending close to 170m euros on 2 strikers.
I can

Unless Belotti is going to cost over £100m it wouldn't be close to that. Think we'd get him for less than Morata.

He was nowhere near as disciplined, as a DM , he was useless, under LVG in that regard, with Jose he is a good DM option, and also decent in CM.
