Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

I'm a bit surprised we aren't in for N'zonzi.
Probably because we are in for Fabinho.
It will turn a bit into a domino, if we get Fabinho before Real Madrid go all guns for Mbappe. I am not sure Monaco are ready to lose three starters in one season. Therefore Madrid may not get him and may come back for De Gea.

I never said the he isn't a huge draw when it comes to attracting certain players, I even stated that him being UTD manager helped bring in Pogba, Miki and Zlatan but in the same time his antics and style of football are probably creating some doubt with some other players.
Fine but as I mentioned any manager will have players who simply don't fancy playing for them for any number of reasons. Overall though, the net effect of him being manager is positive regarding attracting players IMO.

'Probably'. It's a pity that you can't provide a single shred of evidence to back that up.

I would keep Darmian at that price. He proved himself a solid enough player in the second half of the season.

Yeah, people are being a bit harsh on Darmian, he is a very fine back up option to have, very solid defensively. The less said about his play in the opposition half the better but I would not want him sold tbh.

Unless Belotti is going to cost over £100m it wouldn't be close to that. Think we'd get him for less than Morata.
Belotti has a buyout clause of €100m valid only for non-Italian clubs. There were rumors earlier in the window of them rejecting a €60m + bonuses bid from Chelsea.

I'd love for us to get them both as they are very exciting players and both of them are very underrated by those who don't watch them play.

Darmian would be fine if his role was a CB rather than a LB, he practically gets a nosebleed if he crosses the halfway line these days, we need a proper LB added with Blind and Shaw as the cover IMO.

€15m sounds fair. He's a very mediocre player. It'd be good to see us buy a talented LB.

This all day long, imagine we'd get around £15m and we could then buy Mendy for around £30m or Sandro for more! What an upgrade that is in our starting 11. Come on Milan help us out!

Because players can't wait to go all out on social networks saying how they snubbed some club because they don't fancy certain style of football?

Take Mbappe for example, even tho it's just a rumor can you imagine him joining us only to be played out of position in an counter-attacking side?

Mourinho did what he could with the dross he had, he even improved Fellaini, sometimes it was best to defend and play it safe, especially in the Europa, a lot was at stake in that competition. Judge Jose by next year's football.

No because then they will use the "oh but he he spent allot of money", which will be ironic since the argument was that he could not attract the top players. Their logic would dictate that these players come for free or somehow the dross we have will become world class after years of mediocrity. What he has achieved with Rojo and Valencia to name a few has been a revelation.

A certain insidious little group in here have an obvious agenda. You would have to ignore and rewrite history to ignore all the top players he has bought wherever he has been over the entirety of his managerial career. Its a straw man inside of a false dichotomy wrapped in a circular argument. damned if he does damned if he doesn't.

The problem with Darmian is his almost total lack of offensive play. Modern football requires full backs to be offensive. If your full backs are static, you'll invite more pressure and have limited offensive threats. If Darmian can improve this part of his play, he'll be fantastic but will he?

He was nowhere near as disciplined, as a DM , he was useless, under LVG in that regard, with Jose he is a good DM option, and also decent in CM.

We're you even watching our matches for the last few months during LVG's last season? Fellaini did exactly the same he's doing now, he was solid on DM and he scored an odd goal here and there, Mourinho really improved nothing on him.

Yeah that probably has some truth to it.

Btw has anyone credible enough linked us with Fabinho?

I'm a bit surprised we aren't in for N'zonzi.

I agree and even wanted him when he was at Stoke. Quality player I think even M Owen stated the same when he signed for Stoke that he was impressed with N'Zonzi. He'll cost us a few bob though.

Bummer. Guess all the reports linking us to him were bogus

Well, not really bogus, but a lot of reports come through on team inquiring for a player. I guess someone leaked that we've asked about Torino's stance on a transfer for him and from there the whole transfer saga came through.
What calms me down is that if Mourinho is more interested in Belotti than Morata we would've made a bid by now, but since we haven't clearly Jose is more interested in Alvaro.
What I'm wondering also is, was there anyone ahead of Morata on the #9 section of the transfer list he handed to Woody?

You made the claim. The onus is on you to provide evidence. Except there is none.

I can't imagine Mbappe joining us at all, regardless of who the manager is.

Selling Damian at that price with this incomplete squad would be nuts. See where we are at summers end. He is an experienced player that can play lb rb and cb.

He's got a clause around 40 million or Sevilla asks for that much, can't really remember which one is it.

Darmian at the end of the season was one of our best players. Why would we sell him for peanuts? 15m is nothing in today's market.

I think in a back 3 would be the perfect role for him in a team which plays that system

Lol I mean if a crap source like Palmeri says we are interested then that means all the other reports saying we want both Morata and Belotti are bogus aswell.

Would rather we signed Fabinho for that price but I think N'Zonzi would be a great addition also. He's a very good player.
