With regards to Mbappe, if you look at it from his point of view then we may be quite attractive. He'll be the main man and play all the time. He might see us a stepping stone to Madrid (as harsh as that sounds, but true in reality). Also we're in the CL and Arsenal aren't. City have way too many forwards.

It's us or Madrid I think.

Just shows how crazy the PL is when a team like Southampton can reject between 50-60m for a decent but not world class defender.

The PL money could well be a negative going forward, teams are like kids in a sweet shop. The amount of money being spunked on mediocre garbage is unreal.

Meanwhile the likes of Madrid and Bayern just take their leagues top talents without a fight for peanuts, no wonder the English teams are doing feck all in the Champions League.

Haha, what would the repercussions be for this?

They have to warm up for every pre-season friendly with "Justice for Van Dijk" t-shirts on, before celebrating their first home draw of the season against a midtable side by going up to the kop in unison, holding hands. Poor things.

A lot more than 6 months in the French league don't you think?
Don't know. This guy has helped his team win the league, got to the semi's of the CL and scored against some great opposition. He's more experienced in that sense than most of our team. But if you are counting experience on how many games he's played, then obviously he hasn't got much.

I also think any team see a premier league team coming when they're trying to buy their player and will squeeze as much as they can out of them.

And he has more than 6 month, he was a starter during the first game of the season and he has been promoted in 2015/2016 not this season.

Would he give up the CL for Arsenal?

Who knows. He's 18 years old though, PL football alone is high profile enough. Besides, Arsenal don't last long in the CL anyway!

He seems grounded and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he did see merits in joining Arsenal right now.

It's for the greater good of the league that mid table teams like Southampton can keep hold of their better players if they really want to. But I guess it's to the detriment of the top 6.

As a United fan whose main interest is the success of the club, I'm not really worried when we can attract players like Ibra and Pogba. We're by far the biggest club in the league; it's the rest of the top 5 that this should concern imo.

He has experience playing as a striker and as a winger so I am not sure what position they are buying him for.

Yeah, I'm like you. I don't really know which role he is going to have, I just wanted to share that alternative.
