Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

All those taking the piss, I don't think Arsenal should just be laughed at regarding Mbappé. If they are willing to spend they have a chance like anyone else.

It actually makes lot of sense for Mbappe to join Arsenal IMO, Wenger is sure to give him huge minutes and make him the focal point.

If Arsenal had CL football next season than I would be pretty sure Mbappe would join them, but without it I doubt he will.

Waste of time. He ia nuts about Madrid
I agree, as much as I like the kid, and think he's got a big future, at that price we could buy a mature striker and winger and sort out our problems in attack. Pretty much the combined price of Di Maria and Aubameyang which PSG are paying, to put it into perspective. Nevertheless, if Ed and Jose ca finance the deal without prejudicing our other business, who are we to complain:)

Personally, I really hope that clears the way for us and we go for him. He'd greatly suit a couple of different systems playing either as full back or as wing back.

It's a shame because Shaw would fit that role perfectly, but I'm not sure he can be relied upon to have a strong full season.

If we sign Lukaku for anywhere near £100m when we could (possibly) get Morata for half that, we're mad! I like both, but that's just crazy.

He talks up premier league, and if Costa doesn't leave Chelsea I can only seem him coming here.
We are a club with ambitions, having installed manager with winning mentality and he's a player who wants to play CL and win trophies - he's bound here.

Imagine the frustration of having Szczesny (I assume they see him as a Buffon replacement when he retires? Too much many for a bench keeper) in goal after having Buffon for 2 decades

Morata > Lukaku

I've never been really convinced that Morata is better than Lukaku as much as I am a big fan of Morata (watched him since his debut at Real Madrid). I think Lukaku is a better predator in the opposition box and around it. He has consistently hit high numbers for a few years now without fail and he's just 23.

But if you ask me, I think Jose will go for Morata on the basis of past relationship, price, pride and perhaps his perception of Romelu. Pride because Jose wants to prove that he bloods and breeds young players despite the general contrary notions. Nothing will sound better to him, I guess, than for the Morata he gave a debut, to turn into a super star at United under his management.

About past relationship and perception, I doubt if Jose now thinks that Romelu is mentally strong enough to compete at the highest levels. That was the issue he had with Romelu at Chelsea. Has that changed significantly and does Romelu now think the same Jose he left at Chelsea, is a changed manager?

We really don't know at this point in time but things will certainly unravel.

Don't want to see Sanchez anywhere close to the club. Would rather give Fellaini another 5 year contract than him. Mediocre.

And yet he was outstanding in the Euro Finals.

There can be many reasons he didn't do well at Bayern.

Mbappe will be such a waste of money.

That kid reminds me of the Brazillian Ronaldo and Thiery Henry. His burst of pace, dribbling skills, shooting accuracy, goal sense etc. No, it won,'t be a waste of money considering his age and today's insane market values. If a club gets his services for 6 - 8 years and he develops in line with his potential, it will be money well spent.

I'd be happy at around £60-70 million because for that we could buy almost any striker around (Lacazette, Morata, Kane, Costa, Aubameyang, Benzema)
Kane? You'd be looking at £150m before Levy even thought about it. Maybe in a couple of years there might be a chance if we've kicked on to being strong chances for both league and CL, but at the moment there's not a chance in hell.

my bad, i didn't put my statement in context.
I meant it will be a waste of money for us, United.
Because he clearly wants to go to Madrid.
And we are so far behind in quality up top, that we can't spend so much just for investment.
We need to sign at least one proven striker.
And even if we sign him for re-sale purpose, there's no guarantee he will become a super forward and help us earn more in re-sale.

How can anyone come to this judgement by watching him play 6 months of football. He's a R9 and Henry hybrid feck me he's on course to be the greatest striker ever according to some of you on here. I'm interested to see him do it in harder league with a less attacking team. If 19 year old R9 was playing in this Monaco team he would have scored 50 plus the amount of chances they create

Not quite, mate! Mbappe ended the season with 26 goals in 2037 minutes. That's a goal every 76 minutes. Very few - if any - are going to have a better minute to goal ratio.

There can be many reasons he didn't do well at Bayern.

Perisic has been excellent for Croatia over the years in tournaments too, but he isn't really considered top class or even good enough many.
Sanches's best attribute is his physicality and youthful exuberance of driving forward with the ball. Thats it. Nothing else stands out. If he can't hack it in a one man league with a settled and world class players around him, he most certainly isn't ready or good enough to play for us who are in a worse condition.

If Bayern are open to selling a "prodigy" they bought just a season ago for considerable amount, it says something. They made a error in judgrment and want to cut their losses while he can still hold onto whatever hype is left.

I am not saying he's not got good stats. But people on here are going on like he's guaranteed to be a success and one of the best strikers etc etc. Let him do it for more than one season. I hope he goes Madrid if he puts the same numbers up at Madrid for a couple of seasons, I will hold my hand up and say yeah he's the business. But lets be honest we're not in a position to sign someone like mbappe. We need experienced players at the moment. If we had a settled title challenging squad I would sign him.

If Palmeri says Lukakus almost a done deal for Chelsea then he's definitely United bound :(

What is experience?
