Negotiations ongoing, Monaco want more than 50 million euros.
This kid is very promising, but paying more than €50m is quite crazy. Good thing is we have the money for it.

Agreed! But it comes down to many factors. Perhaps his family are bedded in in Spain and don't want to leave. He's probably prepared to stay and play hardball. What self respecting player wouldn't leave a club who was actively trying to buy his replacement while asking him to leave? :/
What's the deal with Martial, then, is he really that much of a prospect?
50-55m euro is 36-40m pound, after inflation, that's about what we paid for Rooney back in the day, is he on that(young Rooney) level?
No way. But prices have gone up a lot since then. And we're dealing with Monaco who really don't need the money. Plus, they know we're desperate. What's the deal with Martial, then, is he really that much of a prospect?

This RMC Journo seems to rate him pretty highly. What's the deal with Martial, then, is he really that much of a prospect?

Interesting opinion. Don't disagree though his attitude maybe a issue. (Having said that not seen much of Martial.)
I'm not going to claim our scoring record is great but we aren't the lowest in the league...You know what I mean Rado. Yeah, we done some great deals but surely LVG must have knew that by letting Di Maria, RVP, Falcao (I suppose), Nani and now Hernandez go, he would be leaving himself dangerously short from an attacking perspective. Great if it worked out and Rooney started banging in lots of goals with help from our other attackers, but it just hasn't happened and we haven't yet played against top opposition and top defenders. We're the lowest scoring team (I believe) in the league; and we have Rooney with Wilson to support him. Wilson wasn't even on the bench today, yet the striker we're apparantly selling was. Clearly LVG rates Hernandez more than Wilson, yet he's about to sell him if the rumours are true. We're in a bad way and we look like we're clutching at some expensive straws now. Nobody will sell for a sensible fee becase they know were desperate after today, and it probably leaves them no room to get an option in to replace them. People can dress our transfer activity up however they want but it's disappointing that a) the De Gea situation still hasn't been resolved, and b) we are worryingly low on attacking options yet we've had an entire window to address this.
Gary Neville put it perfectly three years ago.

To think during 2007-2012 United were getting slammed for the way things were run, for doing exactly the opposite of deadline day drama.
I'm talking about that particular period. The lack of drama in the transfer market late on meant fans slated the club and the glazers. To be fair we regularly signed players very late in the summer window under SAF as well.
Van Persie, Berbatov, Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo, Yorke.
We're joint lowest iirc. We have scored two goals. The third was an own goal.I'm not going to claim our scoring record is great but we aren't the lowest in the league...
Oooh, Benteke for £32.5m or Martial for £37m? What says the caf?Pedro, Otamendi, Benteke. Quality, attainable players that were available and would have improved us immeasurably but having a fecking galactico chasing numpty like Woodward in charge has left us in this shit heap.

Yeah that's true aswell. Neville is talking crap a little.Yeah fair enough, i was actually referring to the tweet more than anything.
Januzaj?
Sounds like nonsense. You'd think the journos were in the room where negotiations are taking place.
Either Monaco or Martial' camp are leaking. Though obviously might not be 100% accurate.
