Orc please stop talking about Chelsea as "we"

I just look at the comments rather than who says them and whenever I read "WE are after whoever" and then I see you posted it, it makes me sad.

Chelsea is not "we". Chelsea is a boring club who'd be mid-table if not for a money gift from a retarded russian. I don't care about them a dot, but if you insist on talking about them, can you just try to stop saying "we"?

:lol:

Or you can just block me. Problem solved.

:lol::lol: This was brutal.

I agree about the "supports" bit though - I get confused sometimes when opposition fans say we because on ios Safari - for example - you cant see the "supports" tag when people post.

Well if he did pretend to be a United fan for 2 years on here, then "we" must be confusing for him. He'll probably be a City fan soon enough anyway...

I'm on an iPad right now and can see it...

What is the latest rumors about United. De Bruyne swop and Neymar - both not realistic. Is any other rumors going around?

Greizmann and Muller.

Must be dependent on your device. On my iphone it doesn't show but on my tablet - like yours - I think it does. I think the confusion only comes by the lack of this showing up in opposition fans' posts.
Could easily be solved by RedCafe allowing users to have avatars.

Why was that done away with?

I think it was because it looked untidy, and could have had an impact on the bandwidth as well (though if they're hosted offline I wouldn't think this would be a problem). It would have - however - had an impact on load-up times because if you had a slow connection; it could take a while to load a single page up depending on how many users had avatars.

Maybe the "supports" is something that could be looked at (@Damien) but it could just be one of the features determined by the xenforo software. I don't think it really matters that much but I must admit, i've came across a lot of occasions where opposition fans say "we" and when i'm on certain devices (namely my phone) I can't see what team they support.

Best to message Niall. Its something to do with device size. Small devices - like your phone - have the caf in responsive mode which presently doesn't show the supports thing.

Ahh. Okay, cheers Damien. Will just tag him into this and he can see the context of the discussion - may give him a better idea of what we're saying etc. Like I said; it's not a big deal at all - the website is great on all devices - but it could be a small fix which may help.

@Niall

@Niall

Yeah should be easy enough to do. I'll make a note of it but when I have time to get to it is another matter :)

It wasn't done away with, there have never been avatars on here except for the odd few exceptions prior to the switch to XenForo.

They distract from the content of posts which is the most important thing in a thread. Same with signatures.

Also, people will just have rubbish avatars like a player, a cat, some old farmer, or whatever. No thanks.

People's names should be enough to distinguish them.

Eh. Matter of opinion I suppose. Literally all of the 6 or so forums of various types I frequent allow avatars and they aren't distracting at all. In fact, they're often a huge help when I can see someone's avatar straight away and know whether I want to read their post or not.

Now .gif's being prevented makes sense. I think simply restricting them to "football related only" wouldn't be bad.

They're ugly and distracting, especially since random posters would almost certainly put up annoying and unfunny images that ultimately distract from the discussions.

Not that I think it will happen, but if we / someone else activate the release clause, there isn't much they can do!

I don't think Neymar will agree to a move here even if we activate the clause. Seems pointless pursuing him under current circumstances but it's the sort of thing we could do nowadays as a publicity stunt. The only realistic target at Barcelona who would have improved us has already gone.

Muller is not realistic either, not even slightly. De Bruyne could probably come but it would be very expensive and City/Bayern have a better chance anyway. There are hardly any obvious targets for us these days.

Can't believe the Sun have managed to get the Barca to respond to such a retarded rumour.

Back to the important topic however; I love that the caf don't allow signatures/avatars. It's a much nicer, clean approach.

I think De Bruyne and Griezmann (and perhaps Lacazette) are the only targets I can think of who could possibly move this late in the window provided their release clauses are met.

If Neymars official buyout clause is 180mil then "offering" that much won't necessarily get us the player.

  • Typically, when the release clause is met, the selling club (unless its a hostile bid) will just sell to the other team like any other transfer.
  • If the selling club don't wish to sell the player, they can insist on the buying club adding the VAT to the transaction which can scare them off.
  • If they really don't want to sell the player, the Spanish court come into the picture to push it all through. With an official buy-out clause though, the player has to pay the money. With that, we'd have to give Neymar ~300mil (which would then be taxed as it would be seen as his earnings) leaving him with around 180mil to use to buy his clause.
So yeah, buy-out clauses can get extremely complicated as we've seen in the past.

It was discussed before, there is a way to go around it.

are you being serious?

Woodward needs to redeem himself?
We signed:
- Depay (one of the biggest young talents in football, and the player I personaly believe could turn out to be and will be our next best player)
- Darmian (a great RB, already established himself as a clear starter and filled the numbers quota in the position we were lacking the most)
- Schneiderlin (put straight into the team and so far he's the only midfielder who seems to be nailed on every match, which is a testament to what he brings to the team as we've looked much more solid in defense with him in midfield. He's also PL proven, he can get even better and due to his age isn't expected to start declining any time soon.)
- Schweinsteiger (a worldclass player whose one problem is staying fit, but then again that's why we've got both him and Carrick alongside Schneiderlin.)
- Romero (I still think we should and will end up keeping De Gea, but so far apart from distribution wise he's looked good enpugh for a back up GK, (though arguably we've plenty of those), arguably a stop gap first choice, he's actualy kept 3 clean sheets out of 3 so far in the PL, and we got him for free.)

Couple that with selling Di Maria - a player who didn't want to be here from the start more or less, RvP who has been a shadow of his former self for the past couple of seasons, Nani who was also never in LvG's plans, and not signing but instead getting Falcao on loan whose wages were thereby easily offloaded.
Not only does that mean our net spend this offseason is ridiculously low, we've also managed to reduce our wage bill by a huge amount.

I'm not saying a massive forward signing wouldn't be a good thing, far from it, but this window has been one of the best (arguably the best for some) of all time - United wise, so to say the man most responsible for it actually needs to redeem himself really makes no sense.
Not to mention the ridiculous jump to conclusions here.
We're 3 games into the season, we're even unbeaten and yet to concede a goal, and yet even though Liverpool have done exactly the same (points, goals, score-wise) their good form suddenly means we're gonna drop out?
And I hope I'm wrong in assuming this, but do you actualy think us signing Muller would take us to the top of Europe?
Regardless of the fact that he's not going anywhere.

Who do we need to sign to win the FA cup as well?

I wouldnt reply to that poster. He/She has been on a constant meltdown since Pedro moved to Chelsea.
