I think it's Ladyman bullshitting to be honest, LVG made these reservation clear on tour yet it's the first time during this saga he reports them? Nah.
He's mentioned it in a couple of other articles to be fair.

Fair enough, just think if LVG made the clear we'd have heard a lot more about it. As is we only heard about how tis a process blah blah blah.

Hopefully we have a forward of sorts lined up. Wouldn't make sense if we didn't regardless of van Gaal's stance.
Really struggling to make any sense, sadly the theory which fits most of the 'facts' is that we were seriosuly in for him but he wasn't keen and Chelsea were higher on his list. They then decided to come in and he happily accepted. Doesn't reflect great on us but if that is the truth we're better off staying clear anyway so no harm done.

Not having pedro isn't the end of the world. He is a good player and I would have liked him here but not getting him isn't going to relegate us suddenly.

And espn sources say we may not buy any more players this window

Pedro isn't that fast tbf. Obviously he's quicker than Mata but so are most players. I remember posting his dribbling statistics earlier in the thread and they were not impressive at all.

It was good for sometime. The negativity was reducing. Now the 'LvG doesn't know anything', 'woodward is a failure' threads will be in full force

EXCLUSIVE
Woodward's Plan
1. Buy Bale and Muller. £200m.
2. Dispose of Mata for £30m. Total £170m, far less than what's been spent over the last 18 months.
3. Win all competitions
4. De Gea changes mind and stays.
5. Start tapping up Madrid's players from next year.

Not really upset about missing out on Pedro, but the whole thing seems rather odd. Woodward briefed our interest in him, travels to Spain to complete the deal and then this. Doesn't look good.

Happy to accept that Chelsea gazumped us and that Pedro had offers from both us and Chelsea but chose Chelseas but what i dont get is, if his motivation for leaving Barcelona was the need for game time, did he not think he would get more at United than Chelsea?

No, I read an interview with him the other day where he said that he wouldn't use Mata at no.10 because he looks for a second striker at that position rather than another midfielder.

I find his opinion of Mata in that position strange then. Whenever he played it for us, Mata was always operating beyond or next to Rooney. In fact my criticism of him in that position at the time was that he plays the role more like a striker than a typical number 10.

We are done if De Gea stays. Otherwise Cillessen will come in. Thats it for me. Dont see players available for reasonable fees that would make us much better.

Can see it happening. Our situation with our attack seems to be the same as the defence. Van Gaal either wants a truly game changing world class player like Muller/Bale or Ramos, but if we can't, then give the promising young players we have a chance to develop. You can't fault it too much really. Though I hope we stay injury free otherwise it could cost us.

Who cares about reasonable fees?

Reasonable in terms of what we would pay for their relative quality. 50m for Higuain or Cavani for example would be shit. Bale and Müller would be a different story, but not available anyway.

You think Pedro is required for us to retain top 4 ? Interesting.

I think we need pace and goal threat added to the front line to aid Rooney who is clearly not the player he was. Right now we look very short of quality up front, the two PL games were as tumescent as you'll see creatively and we were playing a jet lagged Spurs at Old Trafford and perennial relegation dodgers in Villa, .

How are they still shit? They have added to their attack and their defense has been eq
Their defence is awful Lovren and Skrtel. If we had either of those in our defence, there'd be no end of crying on here.

Henderson and Milner as their starting CMs? They are both bang average.

They only have one top class player, Coutinho, who has a tenancy of going missing for the large majority of games, especially big games.

Benteke is quality at knock downs from long balls, but even his finishing isn't as clinical as Rooney's.

We're pretty much better all over the park.

Yes because that is what our goal is, to avoid relegation! We ship off Di Maria at a loss and we have not bought anyone to replace him. LVG cannot complain anymore about lack of star quality if he fails to deliver this season. It will be squarely on him.
