It's weird that people critizing our transfer strategy over effin' Pedro, despite us signing four excellent players that we really needed before we went on tour. It's not like it's Hazard or, dare I say it, Thiago ffs. Sometimes I wish we hadn't signed Memphis so early. Maybe we would still drool over the Memphis signing if he only joined mid-July.

People are criticising it because, despite doing a lot of business, we still require a centre back, striker, and currently have a slight keeper problem....so basically the spine of the team is an issue.

Matthias Sammer has suggested there is no chance of a deal happening despite John Richardson of the Sunday Express stating Muller fancies a move.

“His performances have caused a stir, not Thomas,” he said to Bild, per Uersfeld’s piece. “We can't be blamed for anything but this. [Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge was right when pointing out that he is a player who has no price tag.”

did he re-sign ? If not then a fee shouldn't be anywhere near 100m

greizmann looks good but he also resigned.
There were rumours about him signing a new 4 year deal, don't know if it's been confirmed though.

Not saying I'm Nostradamus, but I predicted this on Monday. Woody did a Lucius Fox and flew to Barcelona to call the deal off; Well played Woody, well played...

So we've kidnapped Messi?

Anyway, hopefully Pedro not coming means Januzaj and Pereira get more chances in the first team. Don't really see a viable marquee signing out there but I'm not overly bothered tbh. Just slightly worried about Depay being overburdened but he does looks special and has the right mentality, so he should be able to shoulder the burden.

Quite funny to see so many numpties in here losing their shit over the Pedro deal. Nothing like a muppet scorned.

If LVG didn't want him, I'm fine with that. He knows a lot more about it than any of us.

Some of you need to grow up and get a grip. Or transfer to RAWK.

We've kidnapped someone... just don't know who.

Given the reports about Chelsea being in pole position came shortly after the game no I would of thought our interest ended earlier in the week. Maybe that's what Woody went to Spain for (if he did go at all) to tell Barca that the deal was off?
Fair enough that we lost interest earlier, but I don't think Woody with fly out there just to tell them its off unless he fancied a few days in sunny Spain:cool:

Our transfer policy is farcical and appears to have no direction at all.

Months trying to sign a player the manager apparently doesn't fancy, with Woodward in Spain 2 days ago to close the deal, as if signing him for a few a million less would remedy the issues. There has to be more to it. Bizarre.

Add in the constant pursuit of players who we're told are unavailable - rather than move on to other targets we seem to continually go back with the hope that things change, with no back-up plan.

If our plan was Bale, Ramos an Mueller or nothing than that should be it. If not, why are we perusing players the manager doesn't want. Seems obvious that there should have been an agreed list, with Woodward brokering the deals for players the manager wants. When one isn't available you move on or wait with what you've got...I'm not sure there's a plan.

Maybe they'll surprise us but it doesn't look like it.

People can say what they want but in personally amnot that arsed about not getting him. I want a striker badly but I'm happy at least our youngsters will get more chances without us buying another attacking mid like Pedro.

I would rather go off what I saw of him at Southampton, I know he was bad last season but I think having the useless Moreno next to him was a big part of that. He's looked more like he did at Saint Mary's in the two games this season, not a world beater for sure but neither are our 2 CB's, the bigger point is the back 4 unit in totality. Is Herrera actually considered a CM by LvG in this system? So far he seems to be counting him mainly as a player to come in for the #10 and not one he'd trust in the double pivot.
Trust me,Lovren is gash.

I really hope you're wrong. This would be like going back to Moyes era in terms of acknowledging the targets and pursuing them to the state of completion.

He's not wrong. If we wanted Ramos, we would have paid what Madrid asked for. We could have called the bluff but we didn't. We've fecked about since talking about creativity and changing our mind on a whim. We're a depay injury away from relying on young again...

Doesn't Woody's phone work? Perhaps he fancied a night out in Barcelona. Perhaps it was all a ruse...

Would have loved to have seen the reaction on here when we ended up with Yorke instead of Kluivert or missed out on Shearer and got Ole.

Stuart Mathiersosidncidncn from MEN saying same thing on Twitter

Oh my god they've actually been briefed about this. Everyone coming out with the same story.

Surely we're taking the piss? Mane? I mean I don't think he's bad but this window is very confusing

To be honest I don't get all the hysterics over being linked with Mane.. if it was Townsend or Routledge then fair enough. I'd be rather happy with him, am I the only one.. :nervous:

I think he'll be a good signing, but why the feck would Southampton sell him to us now

Same.

No, but Pedro is better though

He's a good player, but honestly, I'd rather Januzaj and Pereira be given a shot than buy in someone like Mane who would provide a decent option off the bench and a good alternative for injuries, but not much else.
