No he's not. He has huge potential if he keeps up his current level though. If we'd bought Otamendi and replaced Smalling that would, of course, have been stupid but I meant if we'd come to our senses (and by we I mean Van Gaal) and played both.
Regardless, City are going to be even more of a force now and it's pretty gutting. Can't see us getting close.
We should have bought baba Rahman. What if all our LBs are unavailable? Then we will have to play Ashley Young there. Rahman would have improved us. LvG is a stupid manager.

I wanted us to sign Dzeko too to be honest...After that brilliant season he had together up front with Grafite
Avoiding Mendes clients seems daft when you think how much great talent he represents, thankfully I'm sure the people who matter don't use the logic people do on here.

Truly hilarious. If you question anything lvg does (even though he has been questioned as much as he's been praised throughout his enitre career) then you are a "whiny and fickle" fan. It's hilarious.
City have plenty of CB's and are still going in for him because they believe he will make them better. LVG said it himself, it isn't always about what player you need more so which can improve the overall team, that being said if the manager feels we don't need him then fair enough.

If our lack of interest is due to Mendes then that, at least, is a good sign. Taking a stand and not dealing with agents like him would be positive enough to make it worth losing a talented player or two.
Edit: And for the detractors of Otamendi, saying he's only had one great season. Yes, he has, but he's always looked like he had the class and many players mature with age, particularly in the CB position. He'll be a star for City and I'd be amazed if you were proved right. We'll see though and I hope you are!

I don't see how people can think we don't need a centre back. McNair Blackett not good enough yet and probably won't ever be. Evans is awful. Rojo is decent and Jones is always injured. That leaves us with Smalling and Blind. Blind will get found out at centre back soon IMO
40m€ + Mangala on loan is a great deal for Valencia.They paid 12/15m€ a year ago
So we should buy a new defender because like Otamendi they havent been fantasic for their entire season, fantastic logic right there.

With a name like Ladyman, commas are the least of his worries.
Because it's grammatically correct, although not absolutely necessary, for an adverb, such as "though", to be preceded by a comma at the end of a sentence. It was the way I was thought growing up. Either is acceptable, though.

It would be pretty mental considering what you's paid for Mangala a year ago and what they paid for Otamendi.
I think mcnair has what it takes to make it here, doubt we will see blackett as a CB this year. Rojo i think can be more than decent but needs to show and Jones just cannot be trusted to stay fit.
If Smalling gets injured we will have problems imo.
I get the feeling that united are some for this transfer window unfortunately.
Mangala isnt as bad as the CAF tries to make him out to be..he just had a difficult first year..like Dimichelis did, or even Evra and Vidic for us
