De Bruyne's stance during all this reminds me very much of an article I read written by a "secret football agent" a few years ago.

Basically saying that players will do everything they can to talk about potential transfers to keep them active while at the same time saying "I am happy to stay at this club, I love it here" to ensure the selling club cannot claim they have engineered the move via the media and refuse them their loyalty bonus when they are sold.

It's not particularly well written mind you but some interesting angles there all the same.

so sterling, KDB and pedro when they never had a problems scoring goals in the first place ?

Yea that doesn't make any sense.

Strengthening for the sake of it still makes more sense than not getting reinforcements when there is a huge need for it like we do.

yea but look at the numbers.

Considering what we have, I don't think it would be smart for us to spend £110m plus on 3 attacking players and our attack isn't even as strong as theirs. They scored the most goals last season and just don't need that much attacking reinforcements, Ffp has been eased not scrapped.

city need a CB and a midfield workhorse. Anyway I'm not buying this.

City were also in for Ramos, Fabihno, Otamedi and now pedro. Covenintly linked with those players shortly after utd have been linked with them, imo it is just scare tactics or desperate journalism

Meltdown in 5, 4, 3...

Is this like the time city were interested in Fabinho after United were reported to have an interest, or the time Pellegrini was reported to have had a meeting with Otamendi after the strong links with United?

There is nothing to see here people, no meltdowns necessary. Some of this foreign papers really are even worse than the Sun.

edit: Although someone will still go on a meltdown regardless.

I just hope we win this Manchester war over Otamendi war that the Spanish press were reporting on as well...
There isn't a chance this is true

Edit : damn you K2K... Damn you

I think they do need them, but I dont think City are after any, strangely so..as it is a glaring hole in their team..their attack is brilliant though

Christ, are City still doing that thing of being interested in virtually every player we're interested in? Unimaginative, smalltime, petty and playing to the gallery of their fans.

nope, nothing to see imo. if anything the story seems planted to give us a kick us the arse.

Its not a bad thing but having two Silvas is not going to double Aguero's goal tally by twice though, right? Also, he shines at Wolfsburg because he has very little defensive responsibility. City would be a very defensively vulnerable team if they play their 4-4-2 with De Bruyne and Silva on wings and while they could escape with that against bottom half, they are going to struggle against big teams. I can see a Moyes like Everton beating them or any other team with defensive dilligence getting a result if they play both of them.
Even Messi would not be able to do that! ;)

Football club desperate to spend £30 million because a player is injured for 3 weeks... being a transfer muppet would be so much more fun if this was how it worked.

lol, they can't even translate that he's ill not injured.. Van Gaal also goes long term, ruling out any short term injuries.. complete BS, they don't know what to write about shitters. Otamendi's new Gaitan, we have Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Blind, Evans, McNair, unless we are selling one we are stacked..
