Delighted that he went to Roma, back to starting all the time, and will be alongside Pjanic which can only help them both and the national team. Can actually wish him well in the league now too :)
Personally think he'll tear up the Serie A though, he's only 29, and Roma may just have got what they needed to win the title that they lacked before (plus with Juve losing Vidal).

Seems to be all the rage this summer doesn't it? Agreeing terms with players first, that is.

Yaasss! Excellent signing. Just a player Roma needed for a long time.

Sad to see him leave but it was probably the best solution for all concerned. I remember been at the Wolves game for his debut, he was terrific that day. Shame it never truly worked out for him at City but he still scored plenty of important goals and stepped up admirably at the end of the 13/14 season in Aguero's absence. Wish him all the best at Roma, one of my favourite players since the takeover, for sure.

Although:

What a load of bollocks

dear oh lore this is getting f'cking tedious

This is becoming a bittuva joke at this stage. How United cant cough up €30m for a seasoned quality player like Pedro - that would seriously improve our team, is beyond me. He's an absolute bargain at that price ffs.

It's like we're not that bothered, dont value him that highly, or just stretching out the transfer process as best they can so we can come out with "we ran out of time to sign other players.." bollox..

It's a no-brainer - pay the €30m for Christ sake :wenger:

A fairly significant part of sales is negotiation. Especially when we're talking about "only" €30m.

Whether we sign Pedro tomorrow or in 2 weeks' time, we're at a stage where his initial impact will be similar. May as well maximise value wherever we can.

People were saying the exact same thing with Schneiderlin. If Ballague is right, we've already agreed personal terms with Pedro, so the transfer seems inevitable and just a matter of time.

You haven't got a clue what is going on behind the scenes. Neither have I, but I'll trust that the club are working on deals that best suit all parties, something that can take a little time.

Southampton twice publically said we hadn't bid for Schneiderlin then suddenly he was a United player within hours. We're obviously going to get Pedro.

Why don't we just click 'go on holiday' until they respond!?

Would of been nice to of had him for Spurs really but you can't win them all.
Looking forward to seeing him and Depay on the wings for us. Just hope our slow build up play doesn't hamper what our two pacey front men have.
Of course I'm speaking in hindsight as he hasn't signed yet, but still

All good points indeed..

Not that i didnt think of them of course; but if terms have been agreed with Pedro - then get the deal done with Barca pronto, so we can move on to our other targets - if we have any that is..

Schneiderlin was a really odd one, ridiculous amounts of speculation for ages, then nothing, and it was amazingly quickly done at the end.
So much so I misread it as still headlines about Schweiny

No, Southampton said that our bid wasn't enough iirc.

Things still went from ''no new bid'' to ''Schneiderlin is undergoing a medical at United'' pretty quickly. It was looking as though we had abandoned the Schneiderlin deal for Schweinsteiger, but we ended up signing both in the same day.

Regardless of Barcelona's public stance on Pedro, I'm convinced that it's pretty much a done deal. Whether we sign him tomorrow or after Barcelona's game vs Sevilla next week, he'll be a United player in the end.

I think we might be looking at someone else and we keep Pedro as a second option. Considering how straight forward this transfer should be, there no other reason not to buy him before the start of the season.

What happened to Ramos' contract being a done deal? These Spanish sports media sources like AS, Marca are the worst, they contradict themselves all the time.

Surely we can offer more than that, but to me he just wants to stay at Madrid but wants a shit load of money thrown in.
Not sure his heart would be at OT if he came here.

When you are wanting 10 to stay? I don't think it's anything to do with heart. I don't think he would have a problem moving. He didn't grow up supporting them and moving to a new country would be exciting. I think moving to another Spanish team, might be an issue. But I think he'd play like he always does and he'd probably get sent off every other game :)

Real are tight cnuts, 1.5m more for a club legend wont kill them.
Theyre currently in a cycle of worrying about that 500m debt hanging over them, give it 6 months and theyll be back to throwing it around again.

Equates to just over £7m a year net or £134k a week. So when tax is taken into consideration it'll be closer to £200k a week. After our recent wage recoup we could easily afford him

Ain't happening...
