Really? Would cost marquee money!I don't think he's a marquee signing?
I would not care. Would love him here.I don't think he's a marquee signing?
Yeah, definitely. He won't actually count as HG until he has another season with us but that doesn't matter at the minute as he is still under 21.
I don't want us signing a big name that we don't actually need just to sell shirts. Just sign someone we need like a CB.Absolutely. No big name players out there, however, there are some very good players available.
Although, some journalists have reported Pedro will be our last signing.

43 million Euros isn't a great deal. In fact, it's around £30m.

True, but people do forget just how many big wage players have left over the last 2 years when judging our outflows. Rio, Vidic, Evra etc. earlier as well.Conveniently ignoring that we've bought in four players, one of whom is likely on as much as ADM/RvP were.
I'm sure we're still comfortably in positive figures but I doubt it's close to that amount.
He doesn't want to leave anyway though right? Didn't Chelsea already try that one
Tweets like that are simplistic bullshit because they ignore the fact we have signed new players and have one of the healthiest set of financials in world football.Any idea on what our new signings would be on? Could the net figure be enough for 1 super star?

We've also brought in Mata, Herrera, Rojo, Shaw, Fellaini, all of whom are reportedly on 90k+. Blind probably a little lower. Add to that Rooney's bumper contract and I'd say, even with the departure of those players, we still have the league's biggest wage bill.True, but people do forget just how many big wage players have left over the last 2 years when judging our outflows. I'm not saying we've not spent. I'm saying one has to take both sides into account. We've also brought in Mata, Herrera, Rojo, Shaw, Fellaini, all of whom are reportedly on 90k+. feck i hope this does not happen.
He is a huge United fan I thought? That can make a big difference. Also, as he's not Spanish we won't have the 'dream' of playing for Madrid later on.Highly unlikely Griezmann comes here even for cash. I doubt Atletico want to sell at all.
Wasn't that my entire point?I'm not saying we've not spent. I'm saying one has to take both sides into account.

And his!Wasn't that my entire point?
Who ?I have a feeling we have a big name player lined up. Don't think we would've sold Di Maria otherwise.
The thing is though, to improve on last year we would have expected to spend more and more money. The fact that we already had the means to increase our spending, coupled with the masses of money saved on departing players, means we're in excellent shape financially. The players we've signed will be on fractions compared to those who've gone.Conveniently ignoring that we've bought in four players, one of whom is likely on as much as ADM/RvP were.

I'm not doubting any of that, I just think the tweet paints a false picture, is all.The thing is though, to improve on last year we would have expected to spend more and more money. If you think that Schweinsteiger is on 200k or more you are that wrong. All reports from Germany claimed he will be on around 150k pounds.Conveniently ignoring that we've bought in four players, one of whom is likely on as much as ADM/RvP were.

I don't think he's on 200k or more because neither were ADM or RvP.If you think that Schweinsteiger is on 200k or more you are that wrong. All reports from Germany claimed he will be on around 150k pounds.
Depay is probably on around 100k i wouldn't be suprised if he get less than that, Schneiderlin i would say around 90k, Darmian 60k and Romero probably don't get big wages.
So that combined our new players are on something like 400k pounds.
