The infuriating thing is that he will refuse to play for us, not have the decency to even communicate with us, yet will happy accept his astronomical wage slip.
The sooner he goes, the better.

This is exactly the kind of toxic attitude that we, as fans, aren't privy to seeing, but that the manager observes over time. We forget the human social aspects of managing a squad, and despite all the quality Di Maria has, is it worth having a player with a bad attitude around if it rubs off on other players? Healthy squad is a happy one.

Woody needs to save us with a couple of signings. One attacking and one CB please Woody!

Since when do clubs have to reimburse others for their mistakes? Because that was the only way we were getting what we paid for AdM. The simple fact is that he wanted out and he had a mediocre season at best. How much we paid for him is really irrelevant. It would be like Chelsea demanding 50 millions for Torres! If Di Maria was an undisputed world class player, maybe we can make the argument that he just had a bad season but he only was ever considered world class or played like one for 6 months of his entire career. We made a mistake paying that much for him last year in what was a clearly desperate attempt to get a big name signing to boost morale and whatnot. It did not work out and the club should actually be applauded for cutting its losses and rectifying the mistake it made without too much financial loss.

If PSG viewed di Maria as a player on the level or Chelsea's Torres, then there's no way they'd contemplate bidding £44.5m. Heck, I'm not sure they'd want di Maria, in the first place.

The way I see it, we have something they desperately want and have wanted for a while. We should have our valuation of an asset that we spent near £60m only 12 months ago. He's still on 27 and therefore should warrant close to price that we bought him for. I understand that we are not getting £60m, but 50 minimum.

Lastly, why does the currency rate concern us? If PSG want di Maria, pay up. If we are seriously considering factors such as the poor currency rate, and don't want to charge PSG a proper amount, then we are being bullied, yet again.

We are ripped off year after year, yet when we have the chance, we seem to be worried about upsetting the opposing club.

If De Gea goes we will need 3 players. The optimism of a few weeks for most people is on the down I think. Need some signings to bring it back

but we have to get them a fair deal, it's only right......

Forget it, some people don't get it.

Oh come on! You're making it sound like it's playground exercise with the big bad bullies and the goodie two shoes as the main cast. Di Maria in the current market is worth between 25 and 30 millions in my opinion. That's taking into account his age and past performances over the last 5 or 6 seasons. At his last year at Real, he did better than ever and it was worth considering that he might be evolving as a player which made him maybe worth between 40 and 50 millions. In our desperation last year for a big marquee signing we went for it and paid 60.

The way I see it is therefore we are lucky PSG still believe they are getting the player he promised to be in his last season at Real. Of course he might become that player but if you were a betting man, I don't think that's where your money would go. Out of the possibilities, it is more likely he will better better than he was for us but not as good as his best ever season (more 6 months). Factor in the fact he desperately wants out and is not settled at all with us and 44 millions is a solid piece of business from us. Just consider this, if we keep him another season, what is more likely? Will he become a 60 million player or will his value plummet even further? It is all a risk of course but selling him now is by far the safer bet.

So basically, there is no such thing as being cup tied in the CL, which personally, I think is right. Why shouldn't you play for 2 different teams, as long as the transfer was carried out correctly?

You can still be cup tied. If you play in the group stage and then move to another club, you won't be able to play in the knock out stages.

But you cannot be cup tied for playing in the four qualifying rounds. Which is right because qualifying doesn't start in mid August - it starts in mid or even early July. Those players should still be able to move without the handicap of their European season being over. As long as the transfer window open, players should still be allowed to both play and then move.

If we add the Di Maria fee to our current transfer spent and we barely spent anything. And we got 3 players who were on 200k or more off the wage bill. Also Nani was on big money.

Kings of net profit!

Leno, Stones & somone to challenge Rooney, squad sorted & a better more balanced team to take on the 2015/16 season!

Depay: £25 million
Darmian: £14 million
Schweinsteiger: £10-15 million
Schneiderlin: £25 million

Van Persie: £4 million?
Nani: £4 million?
Rat faced cnut: £42 million

Spent: £74-79 million.
Income: £50 million.

Come on, Woodward. We should have loads still to play with.

That's the thing, we are so close, but yet so far from having a really good team.

At the moment though, all I can think of is no Herrara in mid, Depay up front, Blind at CB and one of the worst keepers in the league (Romero) in goal.

Let's hope next week brings more joy, or it will be the olde "which mercenaries can we sign in the last 2 weeks."

We're likely also coming out ahead in terms of wages after getting rid of RvP, Nani, and Falcao.

Pedro, CB and striker. We are set if we can get those positions sorted.

We need a keeper. If we keep Dave, we may get a few more half arsed appearances, then end up with our freebie keeper given game time! Wish Dave would be resolved, Real need to step up & give United some decent cash for one of our players for a change.

Pretty sure Stones is right footed though. At this point I only want a left footer so I can be 100% sure they'll play ahead of Blind/Rojo.

Euros are next summer. De Gea will be wanting to play in them so will need to perform while he is a United player. Don't forget, last season he had a poor start until the Everton game and didn't look back, so wouldn't read too much into last night's performance.
