Marca reporting that Manchester United and Barcelona are now negotiating the transfer of Pedro. Player has made it clear he wants to leave.

Barcelona have made it clear that no player can leave unless they ask to do, Marca say. And that is exactly what Pedro has done now.

Marca also have quotes from Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and Luis Enrique that they don't wish to sell any players.

@soccerlens
Also in MARCA, they believe #MUFC and #FCBarcelona are currently negotiating the sale of Pedro.

They're maintaining his release clause is €150m but has a pact to leave for €30m, despite Pedro himself admitting his clause is now €30m.

He's always told Luis Enrique he wants to leave but the club will insist on getting €30m. Van Gaal thinks he's good value at that price.

More on that Marca article RE Pedro

Yeah Ajax Van Gaal was technical director, interfered with team selection!
Odd how his issues with Pep aren't mentioned by the model professional :smirk:

Thanks thought it was Ajax but wasn't sure.

Trust someone like Zlatan to have a feud with a technical director, someone he wouldn't even have day to day contact with.

Louis van Gaal was that technical director, Koeman was the manager I think but Louis van Gaal wasn't happy with what he was seeing on the pitch so he would tell the players what to do, Koeman didn't like that.

(No idea if this is true, something Louis van Gaal would do though and I think I read it somewhere).

We can afford €50m, just get the fecker bought
We can technically pay Messi's relase clause. Just because you CAN pay, doesn't mean you SHOULD pay. We should always try to bring the price down as much as possible, or it will set a bad precedent and will end up with us getting screwed over for any transfer we make from now on.

Theres nothing to negotiate if it's a release clause though. Just get it paid and get him in so he can settle quicker.

Thats fair enough but the next time you try to buy a player similar to Otamendi's level the selling club will point to the Otamendi fee and ask for that. Because you have set a precedent of paying that much.

It happened with Schneiderlin, United valued him at £20m Southampton pointed to the Fellaini fee and asked for that.
