Rant alert.
Anyone who thinks Pedro is average or just decent. Is a pathetic but excuse for a football supporter. Seriously? I hope to god we sign him so all those embarrassing idiots will be forced to keep their stupid mouths shut for a few months. Its fecking pathetic. He's made shit of our best for years and he's suddenly no good.

Well, at least you kept your cool, eh?

I agree, Pedro's an excellent player. It's just like with Alexis Sanchez, he's had to play in the shadow of Messi and there's only so impressive you can be in a game when you have that Argentinian lad on the pitch scoring for fun!

Before Barca we saw Alexis Sanchez rip through Serie A with Udinese. His individual quality was apparent. With Pedro I think he is solid, dependable and versatile I think he lacks the individual quality to really star at an elite club.

Don't want to derail this thread but you need to see Sanchez at Udinese before suggesting him and Pedro are anyway alike. Sanchez is the kind of individual match winner who will win you a tight game with a moment of brilliance. Pedro is very effective in a system which suited him to a tee but he is not someone who will pull a rabbit out of a hat when your back is against the wall.

He is a very good footballer. But he lacks the x-factor that can win you things. I understand that people is nervous that he will replace Di Maria, that is one huge step down in terms of the impact they are likely to have over the course of a season.

I disagree with seemingly most people here. Pedro might not be an x-factor player (what does that really mean), he never had to be, Messi's always been there. But his pace, intelligence and goal scoring make him a player capable of winning matches with decisive moments. It's blindingly obvious. He has the exact attributes of a player who can win a game. Just because he's second fiddle doesn't change that.
He's not one of the top 10 in the world or whatever but he is a very effective and smart footballer. The only doubts people should have about him are not quality related. The only reasonable concern is that he is quite slight and weak.

A bit of an exaggeration, no? Especially the last sentence.

My impression is that he is what Thomas Müller would be if Müller were actually only as good as what the average punter saw.

Get out.

@Code-CX We need an x-factor related gif! Muppets at judges, Pedro making a tit out of himself on stage, obligatory Phil Jones appearance. Get it done!

Those same idiots will praise Pedro when he performs for us, forget they ever criticised him and act as if they were part of the few who rated him. Last year a surprising number were calling for Louis van Gaal to be sacked even though he spent most of the season in the top four, too many here are just pessimistic. We could sign Bale and they still won't think we are good enough to win the league.

Yeah nothing worse than not rating some of our own players....

There's a lot saying there's no smoke without fire from the amount of papers worldwide reporting this, but they all seem to eventually link back to the same one or two French papers who are really pushing the story every day.

He does also say his relationship with LVG “isn’t good” & it’d be a “big problem”. Coy on whether it would prevent them working together tho

@thcoast Just watched. Interesting reaction - you can see him pause and think about what he should say.

Here’s the video: http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2015/07/23/zlatan-ibrahimovic-louis-van-gaal-manchester-united …

Edit it's about Zlatan's comments on working with LvG again

Interesting, but what would that mean for Rooney, don't think Zlatan would want to warm the bench....
