Lets say I dont agree, sure it would be nice if he said to the media but more important is to say it to him.

All this confidence stuff with ADM is becoming absurd. It seems like he's a touchy fellow and the club needs to be on their toes all the time not to put him down.

Apparently Bayern confirmed Vidal deal.

I may have rushed the message as I was not at a PC and thus, I could have worded my initial response a bit better. If van Gaal had simply said "We want di Maria to stay, he's in my plans" - its not very hard to say, then immediately any thoughts that di Maria's having on "bailing out" may disappear knowing that his manager clearly wants him at the club, hence why he publicly announced it. Do remember the break in seems to be affecting his family, quite a bit. From personal experience, I know that it can take its toll, for very long periods of time. Therefore, he may be having doubts about his future here and the safety of his family; which is why public backing from his manager may sway him towards staying (if he actually does want to leave).

This summer's transfer window has been, without a doubt, worse than the one last year simply because the wums are of an inferior quality. Bring back SolidState, I say.

What LVG said was that it is a process. Maybe the club want to keep him but he is desperate to leave. The club would be willing to let him go if we can get an offer which we think is good for us. I don't understand what is wrong with that. As for LVG's statement about it being a process, that does not change anything. Even if he said we are not letting him go but the process is already underway, what difference would it have made?

This process garbage is really stupid to hear. As an employee of a massive business, who maybe having doubts about his future at the club, di Maria needs his manager to convince him to stay. LvG was asked about his future, in public, to which he replied "its a process"... Why not say that we want him to stay, and it's in his hand now? What was so incredibly hard about saying that?

Could that possibly sound like we are desperate to keep him, seems a bit like we are begging.I do want him to stay but if he does go I'd rather we had kept our dignity.

No, not at all.

I actually don't know what question was asked, but simply stating that di Maria is our player and we want him to stay is not begging or desperate. This was the player who pipped Messi to the Argentinian player of of year award, last year. If anything, we should be desperate for him to stay. Come to think of it, our bid of £60m sure looks like a "desperate bid" to bring in a world class player.

I can't see Halilovic doing well at a premier team. Too small and too raw.

The fact that it's probably not true? After an extensive run in the side, LvG left Di Maria on the bench last season when it really mattered. He can't publicly admit he wants rid of him because United need to recoup as much as possible of the transfer fee. Therefore he has to resort to gobbledygook - not helped by his poor command of the English language.

Really hope he stays at Palace. West Ham and Villa are arguably a step down, I know West Ham have made some impressive signings so far but I can't see Bilic slotting nicely into the Premier League in his first season. He is a Spurs type signing, but feck them.

They are both bigger clubs though.

Watford have signed Berghuis from AZ, to be announced shortly. Kind of wanted him as a replacement for Memphis but PSV already got Lestienne. Could be a good signing for them, Berghuis has a cracking left foot and a good technique. Hope he can make the step up.

Wasn't something similar said by him about Schweinsteiger? Anyway, I'm not convinced one bit about Muller coming here, I'd be delighted obviously but I think it's a bunch of crap.

Either its true or its a deflecting attention from the real target.

United need to get someone else interested in DDG just to gauge Real's reaction (regardless of where DDG wants to go).

PSG can spend what they want, if €60m is true though, with current exchange rates that's probably less than they paid for Luiz, how ridiculous is that?

They can't, as they have to break even at worst in the 2015/2016 season - if they lose money then they're back in the mire again, so they still have to watch spending big money on fees and salaries

I doubt DDG wants to join another club. He wants to leave not because he's unhappy here but because it's Real. Sucks, but Real have the upper hand here. They can easily wait a year and get him on a free. I'm sure they'll do exactly that

Do you know how much Angel di Maria is earning? English media reported 280k per week at the time but I don't know if that is true, if so that's 154k per week net, to match that PSG would need to pay 396 Euros per week in total salary.

How much can they spend in transfer, agent, wage fees etc. this season?

You think what a manager says in the presser has any bearing on a player's intentions or his willingness to stay? What would matter is what LvG told him in person and not what he said in a presser. For all we know we have already tried convincing him but for whatever reasons he wants to move to Paris.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a footballer.

Of course it does... Say one thing to the player and something else in the media? If hes assuring di Maria in private, then why does he spout processing bullshite to media?

Unless of course we simply dont want di Maria, which is stupid in itself.

And if we've tried to convince him, and he doesnt want to stay, we can improve our bargaining position by stating publicly that hes part of our plans.

Maybe he doesn't see Di Maria as a worthwhile player to have in the squad. He was pretty crap last season, let's be honest.

Also we should probably cease the di Maria debating in here before we suffer the same fate as that poster whos name I dont remember.
