What, they haven't told him already? So, we are to believe that all this time they have been saying he can go & their stance has suddenly changed? Do these idiot journalists take us for idiots?

No. It's not that simple is it? Ramos has obviosly told them he wants to go and he wants them to negotiate with Utd. However after the Iker debacle Perez probably can't afford losing Ramos which is why he's travelling to go see Ramos in person. He's even skipping talking to his brother or on the phone etc. He wants to convince Ramos to stay and let him know he's needed and that they're not willing to do a deal. That's the point of all this. Sid Lowe's as reliable as you'll get.

Increasingly feel that we are getting him and De Gea will leave in the next few weeks. Both clubs just want to seem like theyre not folding over for the other.
This sounds like a deal where everything will happen when one club shows a slight crack in their armour. Seems more like a situation where both clubs would sell their player, but neither wants to look like the first one to crack. Its not like Liverpool and Villa. This is United and Madrid. Big egos on the line in these negotiations.

Of course it does... Say one thing to the player and something else in the media? If hes assuring di Maria in private, then why does he spout processing bullshite to media?

Unless of course we simply dont want di Maria, which is stupid in itself.

And if we've tried to convince him, and he doesnt want to stay, we can improve our bargaining position by stating publicly that hes part of our plans.
Please try and understand one thing. I really doubt we are saying one thing to Di Maria and saying something else in the media.

As for your last point, we ensure our position is strong by telling the club we don't want to sell. If we are negotiating with a club already, how does it affect our position regardless of whate we say in the media.

So are Leeds United, what's your point?

The season before last Hull City was better than Villa. That's my point.. The likelihood of Cystal Palace being better than West Ham and Villa in the next two years is slim.

Do you know how much Angel di Maria is earning? English media reported 280k per week at the time but I don't know if that is true, if so that's 154k per week net, to match that PSG would need to pay 396 Euros per week in total salary.

How much can they spend in transfer, agent, wage fees etc. this season?

I've been trying to find out but not so far, last season they received €45.5m in Ligue 1 TV revenue (about £32m) whereas United received over £96m about three times as much. They had a run in the CL unlike United but cannot see how they can have a lot of expensive salaries, stadium holds about 30000 less than United and away matches income must be pretty dire with half the league averaging under the lowest attendances in the PL and global popularity rather insignificant in comparison.

With other French teams weakening considerably the competitivity of Ligue 1 will be even less next season. They're pretty much guaranteed to win Ligue 1 for the foreseeable future so the only real objective is the CL, but can't ever seeing them winning that. Do not see the attraction of top players going there , only for easy money and assurances of consistent domestic titles

If Cillessen does get signed half of RedCafe will already be on his back without having kicked a ball, which is very disappointing.

Its strange that MUFC fans complain about Real fans being unreasonably harsh on their players. Yet MUFC are now behaving the same.
IF we do sign Cillessen, I'd be interested to see how he does. I dont really care about penalties because most GKs never save penalties.
What I do like about him is he is very calm when under pressure (similar to Cech and DDG). You won't see him flapping around in panic. And he is used to having a very poor defence in front of him, so he wont be surprised when he sees our defence being unable to intercept shots on goal.
And coming from Ajax, he will be comfortable performing in the role of sweeper.
Although I am one of the biggest fans of DDG (our best player), I think Cillessen is the logical replacement, though it may take 6 months for him to totally adapt.

Cliisen is signing as a backup keeper for this season it seems.

I am not 100% convinced that Cillessen is coming to MUFC.
But if he does leave Ajax, he wont be our back-up keeper - he'll be our No.1.
Nobody leaves a secure 1st team position in Ajax (and he is Holland's No.1, too), to sit on the bench at MUFC.

Madrid fans boo Ronaldo and Bale.

They boo a great servant like Casillas. That's like our fans booing Scholes or Neville.

Cillessen would be underwhelming. We'd go from having one of the best goalkeepers in the league to somebody who would be 10th.

I don't know if it's like this every year for them but I've never seen anything like it. The Spanish press literally come up with a different version of the same story every day. And we thought our press were full of shite.

French press regurgitating the same load of garbage as well

Because every jouno is a fanboy of either Barca or Madrid and have to cater to their like minded readers.
That basically says Madrid get everything they want and United have to accept it. Unlucky Inited but Madrid have decided against your proposal so here's how it's going to go.
It's breathtaking in it's arrogance

Yep - its pantomime. The fans love Ronaldo and Casillas. Bale is yet to convince the Madrid fans.
Though, I prefer to boo a bad performance than to applaud poor performers (like Falcao or Moyes - these 2 should've been asked to run down the streets of Manchester, while being pelted with tomatoes).

You are giving Cillessen a hard time before he has even stepped on the pitch for us?
Valdes conceded a goal 6 minutes into his 1st team debut - I didnt see many people give him a hard time.
Give Cillessen a chance. He is a good GK - Ajax's current player of the year.
He is probably the only top keeper (apart from DDG), who is used to (and comfortable) playing behind shambolic defenders.

Actions speak louder than words.
LVG showed total faith in DDG, by playing in him every game of last season, when DDG was fit.
Di Maria on the other hand - this is a player LVG had lost faith in.

What on earth does he want from a goalie? David has everything.

In defence of Van Gaal's initial thinking, De Gea was extremely hesitant to make a decision on whether to sweep up or not prior to this season.

There has been plenty of times over the past few seasons when the defenders have been screaming for him to come out and deal with it and he hasn't.

He's great at this now, though. Just another improvement David has made during his time here.
