I think the reports that we bid for Muller are Woodward's doing. Feels similar to how everyone kept insisting we were after Clyne for most of last season while we were actually targeting Darmian.

To be fair to Crerand, I don't think he's claiming any specific insider knowledge just that there's rumours/suggestions about the tour that a big signing being close, probably as a result of what van Gaal said the other day about a possible surprise signing.
