Interesting.
This is my thinking. We will never get him. Why are we wasting time? And they promised the fans that Muller wouldn't be sold. Why bother doing this at all of they would accept a fee for him?
muller for 70m anyday.So Muller for 70m or Pedro for 22m ?
I get your point. However, Bayern are like any club, just like United is. We're all resigned to DeGea leaving because he wants to go to Real. The same pressure can applied to Bayern, because United have the money to compensate Mueller far beyond what they can.I agree, it'd be a statement of intent, but in this case we're talking about another huge club that doesn't need the money. Even if by some chance Muller is keen to move, Bayern simply couldn't afford to lose him this summer after the Schweiny sale. It's similar to our pursuit of Ramos - even if it's true that he wants to leave, Perez won't risk the fans' backlash after basically forcing Casillas to leave. (Bayern didn't force Schweiny to leave, but you get my point)
muller for 70m anyday.
He is one of the best forwards right now and is yet to hit his prime.
My thoughts on the Muller story... What happens to Rooney? LVG clearly sees him as on the wain! Wouldn't be surprised to see the captaincy go to a midfielder after tour.
Also, with Adidas coming in this year, I think they'll be pushing for a BIG star to present in their kit. Can see one of Muller, Bale or Ronaldo as that person.
I do. He's the best natural successor to Rooney, I like Harry Kane quite a bit, but Tottenham would kill us on the price. So you think Muller is 3 and a half times better than Pedro ?

Is Rooney though? Those debates just rage in here.Is he an out and out striker though ?

What?
What did his dad do that he was a legend?
Good point, and I think the report is probably nonsense (Can anyone verify the validity or reliability if the source, I'm certainly not skilled enough to). However, I'll stand by my point, if United went in with a hundred million bid, the wages must be enormous, enough to turn a head.A few differences with us and De Gea situation. For one, Muller has a contract untill 2019. The other is that Bayern is run by it's supporters. Rummenigge directly anwers to them, he can't just make promises and not keep them. Bayern also have plenty of money, their revenue isn't that far from ours. Last financial reports they were above Barcelona in revenue.

Nope.Gerd?
Gerd?
Agree completely. I really want out of the Twitter thread and not get banned, so I'll just quickly say, I think Mueller is the closest thing to Rooney in the modern game I've seen, they're not the same like for like, but as a Rooney replacement, he's the best I've seen.He clearly is one who has been played out of position over the years.
His old man isn't Gerd Muller the footballer, although he does share his name.Gerd?
He makes those tasty yoghurts.What?
What did his dad do that he was a legend?

I would very much agree with thisAgree completely. In the current market that would be a steal for one of the best players around£40m for Müller would be a lot.
He has always been a better player than Di Maria (even in Di Marias' best year). If Di Maria cost 60m pounds no idea how you think that Muller should cost 35-50m euro (which would be 25-35m pounds, a bit similar of what Shaw/Herrera/Benteke cost). He's worth about 50m quid imo....not 70 as the tweet suggests. And frankly, the only reason he is that expensive is because he's a Bayern/German golden boy. Otherwise you could easily knock 10-15m off the price.
