Transfer Tweets - Summer 2015 | Stop Spamming - Discussion Should Relate to Tweets

He's worth about 50m quid imo....not 70 as the tweet suggests. And frankly, the only reason he is that expensive is because he's a Bayern/German golden boy. Otherwise you could easily knock 10-15m off the price.

Yeah, but considering the club is cash rich and the lack of world class forward players on the market, I wouldn't mind signing Muller (even if it meant overpaying significantly for various reasons). But there's no chance of this happening, Bayern won't lose Schweinsteiger and Muller in the same window.

Rummenigge already said that no other players will be joining us from Bayern this summer. Any talk of Muller/Lewandowski is pointless.

So who is right? Di Marzio or Sky?

I'd say Sky, in this case. It doesn't make much sense to loan out a soon to be 30 year old player for 2 seasons and then expect the other club to buy him permanently for a set fee.

True, not like Chelsea to agree to that.

That's a hell of a lot of money though, even for Muller, should at least be worth considering.

1. They don't need the money
2. The fans would be furious if another iconic Bayern player leaves this summer, especially a 25 year old Muller with his best years ahead of him.
3. They won't be able to replace him with a player who's as good as him, so no point selling even for 100 million.

Surely there's a reason as to why we'd bid? Some sort of positive sign from Muller or Bayern?

Certainly not. Look at the youtube channel of Bayern. Seldom seen Müller happier than this.

Ok, he beat Guardiola on the golf pitch today - Guardiola could make a van Gaal-van Persie...
And he walks behind Guardiola into the golf house with all the media people surrounding and starts to introduce him as - here comes Tiger Guardiola... - maybe that is the start of the end...

About the shareholders... 75% fans, 25 % together to Adidas, Audi, Allianz

He's more than happy to see young players given the chance and if they prove they are good enough he will play them or sign them for a lot of money.

He just doesn't want them proving themselves and making their inevitable mistakes in his first team because it could spoil his records.

Yea something like that.

Obviously, you'll know more than most, but it seems odd (if true) that we would bid without even a hint of a chance.

Surely Atletico are not stupid enough to pay £15m for a 30-year old left back who they sold for a similar fee last season, before he struggled big time at Chelsea?
Wouldn't say he struggled. Not like he got lots of opportunities and just flat out sucked. He's still a class player who couldn't displace an even better one.

I don't think it does.

IF we have bid 100mil for Muller then it's because LvG wants him and wants him A LOT. LvG has said many times he will only buy a player if they fit his philosophy. With that, if Bayern refuse to sell Muller, LvG won't get Ed to just spunk the 100mil on another top striker because we are short, he'd probably rather spend 20mil on a lesser player who will fit the philosophy.

This is the most interesting tweet. By the end of this window, whether its Muller or not, if we want someone we arent going to throw out a lowball offer. Seems we are in the mood to get these deals done.

All true, but an opening bid of 100 million would imply Woody is going in heavy. It's probably all nonsense, but an opening offer of that size couldn't be ignored. That's a statement of intent.

That's the transfer market equivalent of having the SAS bust in through the front door.

There was a chance, iirc. He did leave a year later, too.

I remember thinking similar things when our interest in Fabregas became public. I was thinking ''we must have been encouraged to bid either by Barcelona or the player's camp, so a deal should be only a matter of time'', but things didn't seem like it in the end. Probably Fabregas didn't push for a transfer and Barcelona weren't as open to his sale as the next summer.

I guess we won't lose anything if we try to sign Muller (what a fecking signing that would be), but I think it's a waste of ''time'' and the tweets about him don't really excite me as I don't think there's even a slight chance of it happening. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I just can't see it.

Why is it interesting? It's entire basis is a likely fictional offer for Thomas Müller.

I agree, it'd be a statement of intent, but in this case we're talking about another huge club that doesn't need the money. Even if by some chance Muller is keen to move, Bayern simply couldn't afford to lose him this summer after the Schweiny sale. It's similar to our pursuit of Ramos - even if it's true that he wants to leave, Perez won't risk the fans' backlash after basically forcing Casillas to leave. (Bayern didn't force Schweiny to leave, but you get my point)

So what is the source of these Muller tweets. There's usually one source that makes it up, then the others retweet it.
