With Chelsea apart from their academy players they also buy lots of young players and send them out on loan immediately. They don't invest much into development.
Is it cheaper to buy the kids you are talking about in and loan them out than spend the money developing them in an academy? How much does it cost to put a kid through the academy system?

 Over Mou`s dead body
Don't see why not as our 3rd striker. He's shown by his interest in Stones that if a young player is good enough he'll be given a chance.

No idea about the cost but i meant investment as in time and effort. But Chelsea seem to have so many young players on loan UEFA has got to look into what kind of sham they are running. I wonder if there is some kind of limit to these player farming. Loans obviously don't show up in yearly salary auditing.

3rd striker? Jeez, that's what every young player dreams of that sort of stuff. Makes it even worse, you usually play with a lone striker don't you?

I think he does not trust that much in players coming from your(club`s) own ranks. Buying young players for tones of money and giving chance to your own seems different. They say you have really great young players,is it really possible that all of them need to pull "Matic",so they might play for you one day?

Dont take me wrong, every club have their own way of doing things but i believe with your defense you could afford on 2:0,3:1 to give at least last 5,10,15 minutes to those players.

Drogba was our 3rd striker last season and how many games did he get? Plenty of minutes to go around for all 3 of the strikers we'll have at any given time. He's still just a kid. He's not just going to be handed a starting position at a club like Chelsea.

He's more than happy to see young players given the chance and if they prove they are good enough he will play them or sign them for a lot of money.

He just doesn't want them proving themselves and making their inevitable mistakes in his first team because it could spoil his records.

How many games did Costa spend injured/suspended?

Seriously comparing Di Maria to Ballotelli?? What was ADMs assists for the season again?
I wasn't comparing them, I'm not debating if he was a success or not, merely pointing out that Luis slipped under the radar.

Plenty. Which is exactly my point.
Personally, I'd loan him back out to a PL team, he needs a full season under his belt to continue his development. If he's successful then the season after, you've got him challenging Costa for his place and 2 reliable strikers.

Also says in the same article that we've already had a bid of €82m rejected which no one else has reported.

They won't sell Muller after the speech they gave when we got Schwein off them.

They will not sell him for any sum. If you see the reception he got in China this week everywhere - and there it is somehow like Müller comes to Asia with his team (ok, there is Neuer, too) - Bayern knows exactly what they have.

You guys will probably riot on the streets if he was sold.

Would absolutely love him here (whatever the cost), but there's more chance of me winning Miss World.

'I wouldn't sell that mob a virus.'
That was Fergie and United (to which we didn't sell Ronaldo that year either). You may have a point if you were referencing Rummenigge.

If this is true, I doubt we would have made a bid unless we knew Muller would agree to the move.
Plus Bayern could never turn down 100m for him. Haven't they got shareholders to answer to?
