Agree with the above. Martinez is wonderfully irate when clubs show an interest in one of his players.

Otamendi has had only one good season. Only just over a year ago he was playing for Porto, and was not even in the first 11 and Mangala was playing ahead of him. Valencia got him for pretty cheap and he's had an excellent season no doubt. But to buy him for 50 Million Euros on the back of just a single season seems silly to me.

There's a risk involved in it for sure. Remains to be seen if he's a one season wonder or the real deal.

Don't understand why he'd be fuming with Chelsea. Annoys me when managers come out with stuff like this. Sure they were never going to accept the bid but it was hardly a derisory offer either.

TBF he is specifically angry about the fact it has been leaked to the press, from what he says Chelsea.
However I do agree, he can't always get angry teams are interested in his players, he should take it as a compliment.

He's just a bittuva dickhead man. I've a few Toffee fan mates & they cant stand him at all. They're embarrassed when he opens his mouth & think the club has really gone backwards last season - they have aswell. I dont hear them slaggin Moyes anymore either - quite the opposite at times..

We also have at least a week, or 2 when it comes to Otamendi, as he was at Copa and is on holiday, so it doesn't matter if we sign him now or in ten days, he is not going to be with the squad anyway.

Slightly understandable but he yeah he has a knack of getting pissed off for no reason.

Saw a Chelsea fan post an article which includes this about Lukaku when he was on loan at Everton;

And Toffees boss Martinez has fueled the fire by telling fans asking if Everton could sign the 21-year-old: 'of course we'll get him.'

Everton are notoriously tough sellers aswell. The last big player they sold was Fellaini, who they somehow managed to sell for more than his release clause. The likes of Coleman, Baines, Barkley etc would probably be at top clubs if they wern't so tough. In one sense it's a good approach but you do wonder if they miss out on players to the likes of Southamton who are more willing to sell for a reasonable fee.

Never gonna get Kane for €50m's next summer - if he has a similar season or better, than the last one mate..

Fair enough. I wouldn't mind us paying more than that. Anything in the range of €65-70 Million is a good price, considering he's English.

Yeah. You're always going to overpay with Spurs, whenever it is. If you bid for Kane now, its going to be about £50 million. If he has another 30 goal season, that £50 million is going to look very cheap.

I cant believe all these links to Otamendi are all just complete bollox (that some English journo's are sayin today). We havent been linked with any other CB's other than the impossible Ramos..

Di Maria who was an absolute passenger and almost became irrelevant in the second half of the season?
Not saying Pedro has as much ability but he could easily make a bigger contribution. Have to say I'm surprised to learn that he's 27, would have said 24/25 tops.

3rd highest assists in the prem, also one of the highest chances created.

It's like he wasn't even there right ?

I think it's because Chelsea do like to talk to the media. Fair enough Woody likes to brief the press as well, but i think Chelsea just do it as Martinez said to unsettle players.

I know things are never really private in this day in age, but the way Chelsea brief press, nothing is private.

No different from anyone else. Everton themselves probably do it too

I wonder if he'll come by plane or be shipped in a cardboard box like most statues.

On a side-note man - you really should have your statues shipped in proper protective wooden-boxed containers, like i've done with my Minging Dynasty collection.

I have a contact at FedEX that would only be too gladly to help you out with a good deal. Just email him: t.hanks@fedex.com

I just don't understand the Romero signing. He really isn't that good. He's a dodgy goalkeeper and I would rather stick with Lindegaard + Johnstone as backup.

Lindegaard is a poor keeper, out of his depth in the Utd first team IMO and Johnstone is a youth player with no experience at the very top level. Romero is back up and has experience at the very highest level. He is a free transfer to boot. Say we get through to the CL final and our first choice keeper gets injured, would you want to see Lindegaard or Johnstone turning out for us?

Yup. Sounds like a good backup option to have.

Johnstone has massive potiental. Romero could be a good stop gap until Johnstone gains a bit more experaince, but at the age of 22 he really needs to make the step up soon.

Why is Lindegaard poor? He has been pretty good whenever he has got the chance.

Could that be because he lack a steady run of games?

Probably more to do with him just not being very good. We've seen enough games by now to know that.

Top clubs are actively seeking to bring in better back up at the moment. Whether it be Valdes or Reina, Ospina or Szczesny at Arsenal, Begovic at Chelsea, or even Caballero at City, they're all good goalkeepers. A lot better and more proven than Lindegaard.

I don't know much about Romero, but the manager knows him and he's started games for Argentina at a World Cup. He must be doing something right.
