So many changes this season that I'm begining to worry how all these signing will gel. :nervous:

Up to now we have only signed one person in Schneiderlin that knows what to expect in the PL. So when we sign these other two players (which IMO will be both again without PL experience); that will be a lot of players to gel together without PL experience. Could be a disaster, no?

I think that's a good point. Perhaps we might start the season with Valencia over Darmian, Jones over Rojo/Otamendi, Carrick over Schneiderlin, Young over Depay. Surely not all of them, but we could start with one or two and add another as things go on.

Of course we'll have a certain amount of rotation to force us to use new players, and if we're unlucky then an injury may do the same.

However, we've got, what, 6 or 7 holdovers from two seasons ago? Two managers in that time and a two wildly different sets of tactics. Last season it would have been even worse, so at least a most of the squad has a season of Gaalball under their belts.

Let's hope the players we've bought, and buy, are not just quality but suited to our tactics and style. In that regard, Schweinsteiger's experience under Van Gaal will be highly valuable. Likewise Depay with Holland.

No idea why it's not working. It's one of our head scouts saying be won't be tweeting for a few days because he has some urgent business to take care of.

well it looks he literally went right into doing just that

Ahhh I've only just seen the account was only a few days old. Will be bogus. Gunna delete.

Last time I take summat from a mate on good faith!

Sevilla have signed full back Mariano Ferreira from Bordeaux as a replacement for Aleix Vidal.

Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting both Pedro and Otamendi although Pedro would just be another wide player. :(

Van Gaal confirming more signings is good but I hope business is done soon since there will be a massive wave of fake transfer news.

I took it as a sign he may already been close to something given he tends be guarded about transfers and talk about not giving rivals any advantage etc

Well, at least Pedro would be a better signing than Gaitan. Don't think there's anything to it though.

If he signs for us he is 'criminally underrated' and 'under used', if he signs for Chelsea he is 'totally overrated' and a 'passenger in Barca's success'.

No, Pedro is a good player and he is underrated, I think that his haircut, his constant complains to the referee and dives irritate people.

Interested to see how many of the journos go with any Pedro story. The Evans and De Gea stories seem to have broken in unison this past couple of days.

I'd go along with that. Each time I have seen him play he has looked a decent player aside from the diving and bitching. Very quick and nimble, some good crosses and a great shot. I'd still prefer to keep AdM though.

I suppose Pedro has been brought up to play the possession football that Van Gaal requires to execute his philosophy. Di Maria showed no progress in that regard last season. IIRC in his last game of the season he was still trying the hardest thing almost every time he go the ball. Di Maria is a Fergie player unfortunately. I really like him as a player, he reminds me of Giggs but Van Gaal wants a player who looks after the ball and considers when to play the finishing ball better. I don't think he will ever play him in the centre for a stretch ever again.
