Wouldn't pay too much attention to anything Woodward tells the media in terms of our targets.
This.

That being said, Pedro wouldn't be a terrible option IF Di Maria left us. Reus is unrealistic after just committing to another contract at Dortmund & Felipe Anderson has made it clear he's going nowhere.

Hmm. On the right, he has a great engine and is very quick, but he's at his best running in behind, with pretty clinical finishing. A main skill that is an awful lot like Mata's, would be a bit strange having both of them as our RW options.

Could be, 32m was just reported by the BBC as ''understood'', so nothing definite. They were way off with their reported fee for Depay anyway.

It was reported as £32m at first then Porto released their accounts or something like that and it turned out £10m went to a third party so it was £42m

Feck, I thought that Pedro is far younger. I remember him debuting for Barca and now I realize that was 7 years ago. Time goes fast :(

Pedro is a good player but probably not what we need. I think there are better alternatives right there to replace Di Maria. If rumours that Gotze is available for 40m then we should go for him instead IMO.

He's got a release clause so they haven't got a choice.

Well, they could (like Athletic and Valencia have done) get difficult with that clause, the tax rules in terms of how it's paid etc.

But i'm fairly certain that Enrique not too long ago confirmed that the clause was there, and if the amount was offered to Barcelona and Pedro decides to accept an offer from abroad, they'd respect his decision to leave.

Messi would be Woodwards Moby Dick. If there were a Rocky like Woodward training montage, it would be Messi's picture on the bathroom mirror he rips down, Woody running up hills screaming Leo's name.
If he were to be successful he would climb up on the roof of Old Trafford, look down upon the lands and weep, for there were no more worlds to conquer.

The fact the press haven't made a huge deal about sitting down with Woodward, if that photo is recent of course, says that this is a pretty regular occurrence. Considering they've been miles behind almost every deal we've done, since he replaced Gill, it doesn't say much for the accuracy of what he tells the press in these meetings.

Surely they would catch on and stop releasing the made up info. This looks like a coordinated brief to me.

Just want to add, in regards to those Messi claims, have to remember that the Barcelona election is tomorrow and if he's unhappy with the old (current) board, then he could easily use the media to sway the election in the direction he desires.
