SSN have major De Gea news coming up.... Will be interesting to see what it is...

Delph probably doing the best thing really. While Benteke was still there he might get away with staying if he thought City would bench him. But with Benteke gone Villa are truly fecked unless there's a minor miracle.

Delph's decision is basically either -

- Go to city, probably get benched a lot but maybe get some games if your lucky or there's injuries, long-term either maintain that payday or get a move elsewhere.
- Stay with Villa, likely have a piss poor season without pretty much all their best players having left and risk becoming one of those myriad English players who go through demotion and then struggle to find interest from anyone other than relegation battlers for the rest of their career.

Either way it doesn't look great but at city he can at least leverage his nationality for high wages.

Sounds about right. Reckon he'll leave on a free and we'll sign Lloris/Handanovic/somebody next summer.

Rather wonder what happened there. Were there injuries involved in his dip in form 13-14? Or was it because Bony was brought in? Not sure if he's a headcase, but maybe that 12-13 season got to his head.

I think he is a rather average player who had one good season. He is the level of Granada and the likes. Not a top 6 hopeful level

I don't know what that breaking news was, he's either going to leave this summer or next? Well yeh that was pretty obvious.

Do we really want him here next season? Surely his head/heart won't be in it and it's pretty likely he'll officially sign with Real in January so what's the point?

They mentioned something about we will only let him go this Summer if we get Ramos. We are only talking on our terms.

Still looking for the major news from SSN and can't find it anywhere.

With the Euros coming up he will have to if he wants to be selected.

Not much in the way of alternatives. May as well wait a season and scout for alternatives during that time. We'll sign a second choice keeper this window to replace Valdes.

With Euros coming up he'll have to perform anyway if he wants to be selected.

As above, but also we've had far too much first team surgery so far. Another new player in a position as vital as GK could turn pretty brutal.

Well he's been thinking about it last season and still performed. He's got the Euro's coming up too so he will have to perform.

I also don't believe he dislikes living here or the club. He just would like to play in Spain and for a major club like Madrid. He'll get his wish next summer at the latest.

He'll be fine.

Tbf, the gist of that tweet is United have given up on keeping him and extending the contract.

Nothing remotely new from Sky. We'll be keeping De Gea this summer if we don't get Ramos? Fine by me. At least next summer we'll sign someone better than Cillessen.

You're right. I'm sure many still believed that he'd sign a contract and get over it. But this confirms it, regardless of what happens, De Gea will be gone.

Very surprised no other journo's managed to catch onto that one. Obviously Sky Sports were personally briefed by United's new press officer, Captain Obvious.

Paul hirst of the PA been briefed the same it seems as tweet above show.

But he's phrased it more specifically and less generic.

I'm absolutely stunned theyve put this as some kind of breaking news. The lack of self awareness is amazing. In future they should have a "stating the obvious" ticker along the bottom of the screen in the colour brown for news like this. Its about a month old.

Frustrating when I see people put them in the same category as BBC.

SNN will basically report anything their 'sources' tell them. BBC only report it when it is a fact.

BBC are clearly top dogs for sports news nowadays.
