Interesting that Jamie Jackson writes an article saying Van Gaal want Cavani then asks him during the presser if he is actually interested in Cavani.

So JJ doesn't have a fecking clue and just pulls his stories out of his arse.
A source has told him that we're interested and he wants to hear it from the horses mouth. Even journos with a cracking source can't be 100%.

Where did you hear a source told him or are you just speculating?

In any case going by Van Gaal's reaction to the question JJ can safely assume his source is as full of shit as he is.

Los Angeles Galaxy sign Giovani Dos Santos from Villarreal on a four and a half year deal.

Oh yeah, it's very likely bullshit. Just saying that him asking about it doesn't disprove that Jackson has been informed or believes as such.

Shows how little the media know, Seems like the LvG - Valdes bust up took place last season, even before we played the last few games! Yet they spent the summer speculating about DDG leaving, and claiming Valdes would be the #1

Yeah fair enough it is possible he has been mislead. I still lean towards the him pulling it out of his arse theory though. LVG seems to think so also judging from the press conference.

@bucky

Apparently a left back named Faouzi Ghoulam from Napoli. At this point I would rather sell Gibbs than Monreal, the former is 25 years old now (26 in September) and hasn't shown any improvement since he slipped in the Champions League semi-final.

Cheers. Thought it is rather odd to sell Monreal after his good spell towards the end of last season and with Gibbs injury record.

Who are Arsenal to replace him with? @JSArsenal @cesc's_mullet

No idea, I didn't think we would sell him after the great season he just had - however if he wants to return home to Spain then fair enough.

I'd hope we sign Rodriguez, but we have been linked with some Napoli LB that I had never heard of - Faouzi Ghoulam. I have to admit that he has an awesome name.

Valdes will be sold.

Absolutely shocking if true. Show some respect and class to a guy who is one of the most decorated goalkeepers in world football. What philosophy does a goalkeeper need to follow?

Not surprised from LvG really. He's got previous.

He refused to play for the U21's last season, on more then one occasion apparently. Thats the 'philosophy' he failed to follow.

The only one that lacks respect and class in this situation is Valdes.

I doubt many would side with Valdes if he refuses to train/play with the U21s.

I watched him play for the reserves together with Carrick, Rafael, and RvP.

I'm guessing it's either after that or before that he refuesed to play for the u21team, also LVG said it as an example of how he didn't follow his philosophy, maybe there are other things that made him so frustrated with Valdes.

You don't criticise a player in public. That's low from LvG in a presser. He could have just said he's left him behind for other reasons like personal training regime.

Watch the full interview.

He says that he got him and helped him through his rehabilitation because he knew about him from before. Thereafter he was awarded with a contract. He expects his players to have match rhythm and wanted him to therefore play for the second team, which he didn't want to. The decision to sell was made at the end of last season.

Clearly he's disappointed and there maybe even more to the story.

Bit of vindication for the "body language experts", whoever they are, in their thinking that there might be something in the di Maria rumors, and also the "gullible fools" who added 2+2 with Valdes being left behind without any injury news.
