They do realise PSG are in the same tournament we are playing in this summer and that Di Maria is injured right? He probably wont even make our tour later on.

I would prefer it if he stayed and got the chance of a second season but I wouldn't be too disheartened if he left to be honest. After all, he only had 1 really top season in his career and if we had the chance to get a winger/forward that scores more goals, selling him for 80% of what we paid for him would not be bad business IMO of course.

I wouldn't mind if he goes, but it's PSG, they really want him, if we can't take at least 60mio pounds from them, we are really idiots.

The only winger I would take is Reus, and even then his injury troubles are worrying. Can't really think of anyone else who can come in and potentially offer more than what Di Maria's capable of. Bale isn't available.

Strange one that. Maybe there is some truth to the rumours that he is indeed going. Or it could simply be the case that LVG knows what Valdes can / can't do, and wants to take a look at Johnstone on tour.

There is also the DDG situation. Has he been included on the tour to make a point to Madrid, or is he going to be held to his contract? If he is going to be held to his contract, I could understand Valdes looking to move to get games.

Griezmann

Griezmann
He's not really a winger. Plays more as a forward, or at least does the most damage as one. Playing out on the left would stifle him. Arguably the same could be said for Reus who likes to get in behind defences, Di Maria is more of an assister.

Valdes' latest tweet seems to indicate he isn't unhappy. I think your point re looking what Johnstone can do makes sense. Valdes is known and has been here for 6 months so he is kind of fine. Lindegard hasn't played for a year

If Di Maria goes, not that I think he will, we simply have to buy a replacement. Relying on Young and 2 fairly unproven talents in Depay and Januzaj, as our winger is not good enough. Please to God, let it not be Gaitan.

Wasn't it widely reported last year?

Irrelevant of that, the other points still make a compelling case to move, which is probably why you ignored them.

Please find a copy of the supposed interview with Telefoot
He could have an awful ordeal in any country or city
Paris is noted to be crime free:rolleyes:
It would easier to adapt to Ligue 1 because the level is so crap

Interesting...

He said it would require a bid of over 50m and an intention for bayern to sell. He also mentioned that bayern has no interest and they are not forcing anything too.

I don't think another bayern player would be possible this season unless they buy di Maria or something.

The only way I can see Bayern selling us another player is if we gave them Di Maria.... Actually when you think about it, I would take a swap deal between them. Di maria for Lewandowski

In the inteview the journalist asks him why he didn't joined PSG in the summer. And DI Maria answers:" Well , you know at the time I think that PSG weren't able to buy players, and I think that it's the main reason why I haven't been able to play for PSG, play for a french club would please a lot of players, I think that it would have been a a great experience."

That's what he said.

I honestly don't think we have a cat in hell's chance of signing another Bayern player this summer. I'm not sure I'd take Lewandowski over di Maria either. If he does actually want to stay, I think he's got so much more to give.

Not going to happen, but Lewandowski at United would be just .

Even if Bayern want Di maria in exchange, we could activate Griezmann's buyout clause and plug him as the right attacking midfielder opposite Memphis. Between the addition of Lewandowski/ Griezmann, and maybe someone like Otamendi in defense, we'd be instant League co-favourites, and probably among the 5 strongest squads in Europe, with room for further improvement in the coming seasons. It all boils down to Van Gaal's preference though. As good a player as Di Maria is, if there's an ideological mismatch that's difficult to resolve, we might never get even 80% of his talent. Lewandowski on the other hand is exactly the type of #9 we need. So in terms of value to Van Gaal, any such hypothetical deal would make a lot of sense.

So why didn't you come to Paris: Because they couldn't spend the money to buy players
A lot of players would like to play in the French league

What do you expect him to say

It's not just that though. Before we were linked PSG were linked constantly. It seemed he was of to them. It was only after PSG couldn't stump up the cash that we were able to seal the deal. That's the context of his answers. I don't see why you're finding that so hard to believe?

I don't think there's any of us who would like to see AdM go but it wouldn't be a surprise either. His family has not had a great time in Manchester so far.

PSG were in for him before we were and could have sealed the deal had they not bought Luiz but they thought they could get away with not complying with FFP

I have not seen Valdes' latest tweet, what did it say?

Say what Fellaini said a few seconds later when the journalist asks him what he would do if he was Di Maria:"I would stay with Manchester.", at no point he mentions United or the attractiveness of United.
The diplomatic answer was "the premier league is the best league in the world", not "I didn't come because of the ffp". Now I don't know what he really thinks or feels. I'm just in the 'wait and see' camp.

Didn't Rummenigge say that Bayern would not be selling anymore players to United this window?

I'd be surprised if they seriously looked at offers for Lewa, at least not for 35m - he's worth more than that.

There's just no way Bayern would sell one of the best centre forwards in the game at a time when there don't seem to be many of that level around.

Exactly though. He would have been off to them had it not been for the FFP. However, with relaxed FFP this season and them having the cash, it's very well plausible that he might prefer to go. Especially if his family have not settled and he feels like an outsider at the club. Then yes, he'd seriously consider it.

I don't want him to go, but the story is not as implausible as you make it sound.

Yes Fellaini said that but the point is PSG were in for ADM before United were in the picture so it wasn't a question of choice
If ADM were to choose or had chosen PSG ahead of United then my estimation of him would be considerably reduced.

French football needs something to happen quickly - Monaco are going backwards . Ligue 1 stars like Gignac Payet Ayew Valbuena have all gone. If Lacazette goes as well or Motta or maybe other PSG stars like Verratti - where does that leave French football - a long long way behind Italy who are picking up from their doldrums and reinvesting
