Why are people so averse to signing anyone over 30? You need that sort of experience if you want to win trophies. It's actually incredible how much experience we've lost over the last few seasons in Giggs, Scholes, Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra; we could certainly do with some at the moment.
Miranda as second CB would be ok, but as our marquee CB signing, no thanks. I d rather Otamendi. Hummels is still written in the stars if he wants to leave.
I think people are right to be averse when it's for a decent fee. It's very rare that's clubs fork out a decent fee for a oldish player because of the lack of room for a bad start and recovery etc. but I agree when the fee isn't big. We can right now use some mentally stern players. It can only help create a calm atmosphere. We're still not a mature team for me in our football.
Not that I think we sign experience foe this sake of it. It has to be matched with quality.
I've only seen otamendi a few times and he's looked excellent each time. Looked a real proper defender. I feel maybe we need that sort of defender more than hummels, IF my assessment if him is correct.

Likewise, I was too hung up on the passing CB aspect I think, Otamendi hopefully will prove to be a more mature Jones.
I always find it funny when all of a sudden everyone knows everything about a transfer saga. The moment the thought first occurred to player, how it progressed through his mind etc.

Phil Jones is 23, Smalling and Rojo 25, we should put ourselves in a position to get 85+ points next season and young players will not do that.
We have quite a few young players anyway so it appears as though we will be in good shape for the future, this season just gone after the first transfer window closed we had the second youngest squad in the premier league, newcastle was the only team younger and look at what happened to them. We have already lost Fletcher (31), Falcao (29) and we have signed Depay (21) therefore as of now our squad is even younger than last season, it is possible we will lose RVP also, so I don't think there is anything wrong with signing players over 30.

Ok, I think United should change the policy of requesting the players to sign an extension contract earlier in the future. Then at least make those clubs pays more.

No, but in a world that rams football down your throat you've usually made your mind up quite a few years prior to that... its quite unusual to start following it aged 15 is all.

Am I the only person who thinks someone with Berba's first touch and passing will make our attack way better. Don't get me wrong, I think he is past it but he is not afraid to try things which unlock defenses and with runners from midfield and the flanks, it would be very dangerous.
