The Caf retweeted something regarding Benteke, have to say, he's my number one target when it comes to adding to the striking department. Morgan, Benteke & a CB and we'll be challenging for everything.

The idea of Cillessen being not good enough just on the basis of the WC(where he was actually pretty good) is very stupid.
If you mean me, I already said I've watched him more than that. And he wasn't good.

Lacazette would cost less than £32m with how weak the Euro is. Unless you plan to play like the old Stoke a player like Benteke would be useless.

It is the most stupid thing I have read here, considering that he was very good (to not say excellent) in World Cup. I haven't seen him much for Ajax but considering that he waschosen their best keeper, it looks that he has had a very good season.

On other words, people who say that he is shit don't have a clue what they're saying.

Or maybe some have watched more of him than just the world cup.... I don't think he is shit, but I still don't think he is good enough for us.

And if we want to play our current system then we need a number nine which I don't think Lacazette is.

I don't really mind what player we get if he produces results but surely our aspirations should be higher than Benteke. I know it's wishful thinking in the current market with the lack of apparent top quality strikers but we need to have someone on the level of what van Nistelrooy used to do for us. Every top team has that kind of striker.

For me the GK situation is as simple as ABC. "Anyone But Cillessen"

Give me Navas, Valdes, Lindegaard, the fat chick in row G of the Stetford end. Just please for all that is Holy do not sign that piece of crap Cillessen

Every match of the World Cup. Maybe 7 or so times for Holland since. Here and there for Ajax. Quite a lot. He is shit.

If you watched him regularly you would know he had a good season for Ajax. I don't think Louis van Gaal will sign him, I think the manager will pursue somebody better and more proven however if he cannot get his preferred targets (who needs to be a sweeper keeper) then he will sign Cillessen as he will be content with that transfer, Cillessen will probably be good but not great, he certainly hasn't been 'shit' this season.

Medical would be at Carrington, not OT.

He's a reporter for Sport1 right. Don't think he's saying the medical is at OT. Is probably there to report on the medical/unveiling and is being given a tour around OT while he waits

Yes, of course. I think the journalists following Schweinsteiger here are just taking the opportunity to look around while they wait for him to complete the medical. :)

From what I've read about Lacazette, it seems he's quite different from Ruud and not a number nine. You're right that we should aspire higher than Benteke but its slim picking in the market.

Louis van Gaal has already said he won't sign for the sake of signing, he will only sign players that fit his profile and if Benteke does that then fine.

I think that penalty shootout against Costa Rica has somehow made it seem that cillisen is a very shit keeper. He was actually quite good. He is at par or even better than Navas lindegard and the likes. Maybe Navas is better at saving penalties but other than that I don't think there is anything to prove that Navas is better than cilllisen

Sterling deal could kickstart the market and a little chain. Benteke, Austin maybe even Lacazette deals could follow to wherever they end up. Could have implications for us

From what I saw at the World Cup Cillessen is more of a "reflex" keeper - so a Hugo Lloris rather than a Van Der Sar - would that be correct? Is he any good in the air because he didn't look built and looked small (for a goalkeeper) in size.

As for Benteke - the wouldn't mind him here as a backup, but definitely not for the prices mentioned. I think he'd be a great option against the small teams where he can use his physicality and pace to great effect. Benteke and Fellaini would make Arsenal cry. (Although I am sure its not the football we want to be playing)

So Sterling to City followed by Benteke to Liverpool and Austin to Villa - not sure how that affects us?

Lacazette I think said he prefers to leave to a CL club and I would expect quite a few of them would be interested too. I don't think sterling deal would really affect any deal for Lacazette
