Why is it that no one wants us to sign Gaitan? is he not a good player?
We could sign Darmian, Ramos, Otamendi, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Depay and and Muller this summer...

As far as I'm aware probably okay, but nothing better than we already have? There's a reason he's not been snapped up by a top team in Europe.

He's pretty good, but he's not the kind of player we need, nor is he better than what we have. The laughs are more about how various agents and media outlets have claimed we have or are about to sign him every single transfer window for the past 4 years, it's beyond silly now.

It was completely unjustified.
Someone said on here that one year Gill rang up Benfica(or whoever), and told them to stop linking us to Gaitan as we definitely weren't buying him.
Real Madrid went as far as releasing a statement about Pogba. We should really do the same.
I may have imagined this, but I vaguely remember one summer the presenter on MUTV issued a statement on behalf of the club denying any interest in Gaitan. Anyone have any recollection of this?

Well, i think it's possible that they'll end up with both Dave and Casilla.
Navas said that he'd leave if Real buys Dave, that'd leave Real without a backup GK, surely Casilla would make a cheap and usable backup?
I think it's far more likely that they'll sign Casilla as Casillas' replacement and keep Navas for another season. Signing two goalkeepers in the same transfer window seems unlikely to me.
There were some reports in Spain that Real would look at Casilla as a stop-gap if they can't sign De Gea this summer and I think it's a plausible scenario.
